Meet Erlaine F. Bello, MD, MS, FACP

The triple aim for all my patients is longevity balanced with high functionality and contentment. For some, safety may need to be added to the equation. While these goals may sound simple, none of them can be achieved without good health. What you need to do to stay healthy may depend on family history and the lifestyle choices you make. My job is to help you assess your individual risk of chronic diseases and help you to avoid them or identify them for early intervention. I will help you navigate through an increasingly complex healthcare system. I am your coach to help you maintain the physical capacity to work, play and travel for as long as you can. We will work through your unique health and life challenges and celebrate them together. I want you to be the best you for your friends, your family and yourself.

I have a sub-specialty in Infectious Diseases and my primary care patients benefit from integrated infectious disease care. I also provide travel health counseling and immunizations. I will care for you and be your attending physician if you ever require admission to the Queen's Medical Center.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

i am so thrilled to have been accepted as a patient into Dr. Bello's practice. She is so easy to talk to ... it's not like an interrogation when I have an appointment with her. It is like visiting with a friend asking how I am feeling today. She is so thorough in all she does and I am especially happy to have found Dr. Bello because I had been a patient at Mayo Clinic since 1978 and had my annual physicals there every year. After my husband passed away, his medical problems being the main reason we went to Mayo so often, I tried to find a doctor here in Hawaii so I wouldn't have to go back and forth to Mayo. Excellent doctor and staff. The only drawback is she is MDVIP. Which means you must pay $2k annually (out of pocket, not covered by insurance) for the pleasure of being her patient. Frustrating, but in Hawaii she is the best and if $2k is the cover charge, I gladly pay it.
