About Francisco J. Velazquez, MD
In Primary Care, the physician is your partner in achieving good health. We will work together so I can guide you and offer recommendations on how to obtain your health goals, but it is up to the patient to implement the plan. I believe that at any given age, you should know how well you are doing health wise, and not just go by how you feel. That’s why it is always important to get a comprehensive health exam every year.
In my MDVIP-affiliated practice, the main building block is the personalized approach I take with each individual during their wellness exam. In order to prevent disease, I have to care for the patient as a whole, and not just review the laboratory results. Special areas of interest to me are high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol management. As a native of Puerto Rico, I am fluent in Spanish.

I recently visited Dr. Velazquez for USCIS medical exam, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. His PA, Alejandro, made sure I am completely informed about USCIS vaccination and lab work requirements. His attentiveness and kindness truly made a difference. Also, I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly I received my results back. Dr. Velazquez and his team efficiently processed everything, exceeding my expectations. Si necesitas el chequeo médico de inmigración para arreglar tu estatus migratorio, definitivamente esta es la mejor clínica. Un trato muy profesional del doctor Velázquez. El personal que trabaja ahi muy amable, la clínica muy limpia. Hablan ambos idiomas (Español e Inglés) y los precios muy buenos en comparación a otros lugares. Yo lo recomiendo 100%

We had an appointment for medical exams for my wife and 3 baby’s, they clinic was closed at the time of the appointment and no one has updated us about any changes, as we were about to leave after waiting for 15 minutes outside, a person showed up and opened the clinic, then we waited another 30 minutes before someone addressed us or toke the time to explain why the doctor didn’t show up at all, then the lady at the office told us the procedure what we need to do and that the doctor will call us for a consultation over the phone, at that point we were asking questions about what happened and explained that it’s not easy for us to come to the clinic with 3 baby’s and we wished someone would have told us that the doctor is not coming so we can reschedule, after mentioning that the lady got upset and decided not to accept us gave us back or documents and said “the doctor said to her over the phone that they don’t want to accept us and that they don’t have to treat us” and asked us to leave, as Shocked as we were asking what’s the problem? She said she will call security to kick a family with baby’s out the clinic. My wife started crying and the office girl kept urging us to get out it was a horrible scene to be in, these people shouldn’t be practicing medicine they are pure evil. STAY AWAY! Unbelievable behavior and cruelty.

Returned to what I would say is the best Doctor I have ever experienced. I had to leave several years ago do to relocation. Just returned and he spend a lot of time making sure he was up to date with everything. Piece of mind and trust.

Dr. Velazquez has been my favorite doctor ever. I’m a 74 year old man who’s had several doctors in my lifetime. He’s been extremely attentive and prompt whenever I’ve had occasion to request an appointment and gave me the best advice every time. At every visit he takes the time to listen to and answer every one of my questions and never seems in a hurry to move on to the next patient. I’ve always felt I’ve had the most extensive evaluation every time I’ve been examined by him. He’s made outstanding referrals on situations which required specialist attention and always followed through with the results. I would recommend Dr. Velazquez to anyone who wants a personal and a personable primary care physician.

I'm tempted to give him one star but he was a good doctor. The problem is, he switched over to a concierge practice, dumping most of the patients that weren't willing to pay him a couple of thousands of dollars for the privilege of seeing him .
Beyond that, his staff was mediocre, at best. While the staff was friendly, we often had issues trying to get refills, apparently the requests would get lost somewhere in the office, on occasion. We'd also have similar issues with getting a call back when needed -- and even when we got them they were often delayed until the end of the day. Perhaps now that he's being paid by his patients for better service, he's upgraded his staff.

I just moved to Houston and needed to find a primary care physician. Having been with the same doctor for 20 years this was not an easy or anticipated task. I met with Dr. Velazquez this morning and must say I'm quite impressed. He is unassuming, yet competent. He is pensive, but thoughtful and verbal when necessary. He respects a patient's knowledge, but doesn't hesitate to insist on a necessary test. There is NO push for unnecessary expenditure of time or money. His "Dracula" is a very kind, pleasant and efficient expert at drawing blood. I did not wait for my appointment. I was not rushed through my appointment. I WILL be called with the results of my blood work. He even humored me with my Spanish with no reluctance. I have found a doctor in whom I can trust.

My wife was very sick today and we had an appointment for 11:30am We ran into traffic on 288 and we were late 15 minutes. The doctor told us to reschedule because we were late and he would not see us. I try to explain that the week before I had to wait one hour to see him because of so many patients and I did not complain. I ask him for just 10 minutes of his precious time to see my sick wife but he refuse.He was wrong and the sick patient always come first. I will not be going back to this doctor again. We ended up going to the emergency room at the hospital.
