Frederic J. Guerrier, MD

Dr. Guerrier has been our doctor for over 20 years. He has been there thru so many crises that saved my life. The last encounter took place when I had a serious allergic reaction to an antibiotic while out of state. I could not walk and was in pain. I called Dr. G. He took all my info over the phone and told me to stop medication. He was going to call another MDVIP doctor to see me. He worked with the staff of Dr Overmeyer in Virginia to get me in for blood work ASAP. Dr. G kept my husband and myself updated on all interaction as did Dr. Overmeyer office. I was in for blood work and was scheduled for ultrasounds the next morning. That night I received a call to go to ER that I was going into kidney failure. I was in the ER room for 4 days. When kidneys were safe to be dismissed was able to start physical therapy so I could walk with a walker. When able to travel home, Dr. G was able to get my blood test to normal and my kidneys are 100%. Thanks to Dr. Guerrier for finding another great doctor to see me immediately so far from home.
My husband and I have called Dr. Guerrier mornings, nights, weekends and even holidays. He is always available to his patients with respect and care. I cannot say enough about the care and dedication he gives to every patient. I have friends that moved from Florida and had health problems that say” if only Dr. Guerrier was here I would feel so much safer “. That is the trust he has from all
his patients.

Dr G has been a Godsend blessing to our family, from taking care of my Dad until he passed in2014 and now taking care of my 94yr old Mom. However what he did for me says it all. Last year he ordered a calcium screening and it was very high. He referred me to a cardiologist and I ended up getting 2 stints. This saved me from having a major heart attack! I had no symptoms at all, but thanks to a loving and caring doctor I get to enjoy my grandchildren. We will forever be thankful for our paths crossing years ago!

I found blood 🩸 in my urin and went to my Dr. and teice the told me they could find nothing. I changed Dr and got Dr. Guerier, and shared this story with him. He immediately sprang into action, sent me for an ultrasound & when still not sure sent me for an MRI. He then called a colleague who was a Urologist and she got me in the next week. She found that I had bladder cancer. The urologist took me to surgery, removed the cancer and gave me BSG. After 3 month the cancer returned and she again took me to surgery and removed the cancer, and another round of BSG. Praise God, I’ve been scoped twice in 7 months and I’m still cancer free. With both my Dr. with MDVIP, they saved my life by acting quick and monitoring my health. They are truly my blessings and saved my life.

It is hard to summarize my feelings about Dr. Frederic Guerrier into a short story, but this is my attempt. Dr. G has been my doctor for over 30 years. He has seen my wife and I through some trying times. More importantly, he has become a great friend. My most recent experience involves a relatively benign visit for a swollen gland in my neck. Dr G immediately recognized it as an issue. After examining me he immediately referred me to a specialist. His relationships in the medical community, I was seen the same day. Long story short, I started cancer treatments almost immediately. I am convinced that without his experience and recognition of my symptoms, my treatment would absolutely have been delayed. This quick action is so very typical of the relationship I have enjoyed with Dr. G over the years. In addition to being a great physician, he is also a great friend. He ALWAYS takes time to check on how I am doing as a human. We have wonderful, meaningful chats about all aspects of life. I truly do not know how others survive seeing a different doctor each time they go to a group or clinic setting. I know I am blessed.

Dr. G's care has absolutely extended my life and allowed me to spend meaningful time with friends and family, including some great dinners with Dr. G and his wonderful wife. Recently, my wife and I were joined by 10 other friends on a trip to Italy to celebrate Carnevale (Mardi Gras in the US). We spent 3 weeks traveling, eating and enjoying a beautiful country full of friendly people. I am convinced this trip was possible because I got early treatment and great care from an exceptional team of medical professionals.

While my cancer has now spread and the outlook is difficult, I am still enjoying my life, family and friends. I know I have been allowed these times as a result of a wonderful man that cares for his patients and makes us his priority. I will never be able to adequately express the gratitude and love I feel for this man. The world is a far better place with his presence. I thank God each day for another day of life and I thank Dr. G for helping give me that time.
