About Gabriela W. Bowers, MD

I have always loved the very personal connection I make with my patients as a primary care physician. I view my interactions to be conversations, and often share my own healthcare successes and experiences with my patients. I feel that when you really know someone you can help them in a far more meaningful way. In an era when healthcare is segmented into brief interactions by multiple “providers”, the MDVIP model allows me to continue having productive long-term relationships to help my patients help themselves. I always prefer to use medication as a last resort and look at lifestyle alternatives first. The preventive focus of MDVIP gives me the tools to continue to guide and encourage patients towards a healthier lifestyle. Similar to conveniences often associated with concierge medicine practices, I also offer same- or next-day appointments that start on time.

As a long-time New Jersey resident, I have seen the changes to healthcare and want to be a part of the solution. I think that for many people, personalized healthcare is that solution. While the main focus of my practice is prevention, as an internal medicine physician I often treat a wide variety of chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiac disease, as well as digestive disease, COPD and women’s health issues in menopause. As a physician on staff at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center and a volunteer Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical school, I work with many specialists located in the Princeton, Cranbury, West Windsor, Plainsboro, East Windsor and Monroe Township areas. By allowing me to focus on quality instead of quantity interactions with patients, MDVIP allows me to blend “old fashioned medicine” with new technologies, bringing a new level of care to patients. The motto we chose when we opened our practice in 2004 was “Medicine, the way it should be.” I truly believe that MDVIP is exactly that.

Dr. Bowers has been a terrific doctor for me. Easy to talk to and helpful if I need a specialist. She takes enough time to explain conditions, test results, etc. Her staff members are friendly, helpful and well trained. They handle their part of the annual Wellness check-up well, and know how to draw blood without causing bruises on my arm. I highly recommend Dr. Bowers and the MDVIP program.

Dr. Bowers is a shining example of a doctor who cares deeply about her patients and their well-being. She puts her patients at ease, listens intently and answers all my questions and concerns. She also takes the time to pass on new information that becomes available in the medical field. I am blessed to be one of her patients!

As I was driving home a couple of weeks ago, I happened to catch an interview with Dr. Dan Gottlieb on NPR. He is part of an initiative from The American Board of I thermal Medicine to rebuild trust with patients as he said patients get more positive outcomes when they trust their physician or psychologist. Gottlieb described trust as knowing that one’s dr. realizes that the patient has a whole life outside of their symptoms and that they have hopes and fears for their future. Also that the dr.respects the patient and their knowledge of their own body.
I smiled as I listened to the interview as I realized that Dr. Bowers completely embodies all the qualities Dr. Gottlieb was mentioning in a dr. to help patients feel a deep sense of trust as they seek treatment. She takes the time to get to know her patients and I continued to see her after she switched over to MDVIP because she has always taken the time to listen to me no matter what the situation. Dr. Bowers has especially been a godsend as I navigate through this current pandemic since I am at high risk. I was well ahead of the game before the CDC gave recommendations because Dr. Bowers had already informed me on how to help keep myself and my family members safe during this trying time.
Do yourself a favor, if you are looking for an Internist and see her. You won’t be disappointed.

Dr. Bowers is very caring. She takes her time with her patients and will suggest natural alternative solutions to health problems instead of pushing prescription medicine.

Dr. Bowers has been my doctor for over 15 years. I like her approach to medicine. She doesn't rush to put you on antibiotics at the first cough, or other medicines where a natural alternative may help, but if it is clear that antibiotics or other medicine is needed, then she prescribes it. She has come up with some really brilliant fixes for some issues I have had, like pressure in my ears after flying. In the 15+ years, I have always felt that she spent the time with me to understand what is going on, and that is more so now that she works with MDVIP. I recommend Dr. Bowers to anyone looking for a terrific, smart and thoughtful doctor.

I am thrilled to be a patient of Dr Gabriela Bowers. She is intuitive, knowledgeable and caring. The MDVIP program allows me to be in contact with her anytime I need it wherever I am.
Dr. Bowers and Dr. Thomas have helped me and my adult family members stay healthy for more than 15 years. Throughout these years they both have diagnosed critical health issues in our family members that others physicians might have missed.
I recommend the Windsor Medical Associates to anyone who values excellent medical care.

My wife and I have very serious medical conditions that she was well aware of and her office unilaterally assigned us to a new inexperienced doctor in her practice with no consultation because we have Medicare Insurance. In addition, she initially refused to administer a PSA test even though my percentages were gradually increasing. She said that this test is not necessary because of my age. Luckily I consulted an urologist who diagnosed prostate cancer and successfully treated me. She was made aware of my surgery, but her office never bothered to contact me. In effect, she "fired" me!!!

Saw Dr. Kunamneni for a number of years and loved her. She left and saw Dr. Bowers who did not spend any time with me. Passed me along to a new doctor who was very sweet but not that knowledgeable. Decided to change PCP, and they requested my records. Windsor Medical was charging me $1.00 per page. No sign posted and very nasty about getting my own records. They even inactivated me from the patient portal. Extremely nasty office. Would suggest getting your records through the patient portal and then leave the practice. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.

I WAS a patient of Dr. Sarika Sanghvi, but not anymore. I was her patient for a little more than 3 years, but have moved on because of Dr. Sanghvi's lack of bedside manner and general lack of interest in her patients. I initially thought she was a nice person, but I have come to find that she spends no more than 10 minutes with her patients, she is very limited in her medical knowledge and she has an inability to call her patients back when they have questions about their medical care. I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
