Gail M. Fennell, MD

I went to Dr. Fennell by chance. The doctor I was supposed to see cancelled my appointment. I was coming back to the US, after 16 very fulfilling years abroad personally and professionally -- and found myself without friends, with a headquarter job that I couldn't warm up too, and the breakup of a serious relationship. I had a big depression and needed help. Since I was 50, I wanted an experienced doctor who would understand me. I asked the question that is generally taboo: "...and how old is Dr. Fennell?" After a lot of hesitation, the response came: "around 30-32". I went to my appointment nevertheless, and found someone who, not only had a lot of empathy, but who also understood very quickly what needed to be done. I followed her medical and personal advices and things got better quicker than I thought. That was in 1995.
From that day on, I knew I had a very good doctor and a very good friend. When Doctor Fennell joined the MDVIP program, I was determined to follow her telling her that if I was not let in through the door, I was going in through the window... And I have never regretted my decision. No wonder that she was selected a few years in a row among the 100 top doctors of New York.

I have been a patient of Dr. Fennell's since before she became affiliated with MDVIP. Fortunately, I rarely have to consult with her between annual physical exams, but when I do, her diagnostic skills are experienced and intuitive. Her response and follow-up are caring and thorough. The annual two hour physical I get through her office, based on the Cleveland Clinic guidelines, is so thorough that when I leave I feel like a fine-tuned machine. She covers every aspect of both my physical and mental well-being. I am so fortunate to be part of her practice. She is truly one-of-a-kind in the field of medicine.

I am certain that Dr. Gail Fennell's thoroughness and concern is the reason my lung cancer was caught in its earliest stage, which saved my life! She is always the voice of reason and wisdom, and sometimes even has to display some "tough love" when I wanted to put things off. My annual physicals are so comprehensive that I don't think I have ever know so much about my own body and health. I have been her patient for approximately ten years. Knowing that I can always reach out to her with any question or issue, big or small (even over the weekend!) is such a comfort. Many of my family members are Dr. Fennell's patients as well, and her name is often mentioned in conversations, starting with, "did you ask Dr. Fennell ...… what did Dr. Fennell say ..... why don't you go see Dr. Fennell....." Her knowledge and in depth explanations are always so enlightening and satisfying. She is truly a gem of a doctor! 

We have been Dr. Fennell’s patient for twenty years and no matter when we call her, she is always there for us. We have called at midnight from the hospital ER and she has organized the best care providers available, or called just to be reassured about test results. Her calm and caring demeanor ensure no matter what’s going on we will be ok. She is so much more than a doctor. Gail is that rare professional who takes the time to get to know you and your needs. Being a part of MDVIP has allowed her to take a more personalized approach to patient care and I can tell you her patients are so lucky to have her in their corner!
