About Geeta Sangani, MD
As an internist and endocrinologist, I’m drawn to the challenge of caring for medically complex patients—where multiple conditions may overlap and problem-solving, communication and follow-through can help. I strive to care for patients the way I would want my own family cared for: with more time, attention and a plan that can fit their life.
I’m especially passionate about diabetes care and weight concerns. I also want to support patients who have complex medical concerns, especially those for whom metabolic health, cardiovascular risk, thyroid disease and bone health intersect. We can consider approaches that may include diabetes technology and cardiorenal-protective therapies that could support a patient’s efforts toward both day-to-day control and long-term outcomes.
In my 28 years of practice, I have witnessed the faster pace of modern medicine, where patients can feel rushed and important concerns may go unaddressed. I believe patients benefit when their doctors have more time to listen to their health concerns and goals and partner with them in discussing decisions about their care.
I chose to affiliate with MDVIP so I could offer a more patient-centered approach. The annual MDVIP Wellness Program I offer includes advanced screenings and tests focused on key areas of health to help identify risk factors and issues that could be treated earlier, prevented or even reversed. I also offer longer visits and same- or next-day appointments with minimal waiting.
My practice is located in Manlius, New York, and I’ve cared for patients across the greater Syracuse area for many years. My work focuses on diabetes, cardiometabolic health and weight issues, along with thyroid disease, osteoporosis and women’s health concerns.
I emphasize wellness and prevention with a holistic approach that can help patients as they address nutrition, movement, sleep, stress and behavior change. I aim for my patients to feel supported as they pursue achieving sustainable health and enjoying longer, healthier life.

Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
