Meet Gunjan Raina, MD

All too often in today’s overwhelmed healthcare system, patients experience a one-size-fits-all approach to medicine. In my personalized family medicine practice, we believe in treating our patients as a whole and not just a laboratory value. Every patient that walks into our office is cared for like a family member. 

Being affiliated with MDVIP allows our practice to incorporate a comprehensive and detailed annual wellness program, including custom nutrition plans and tools and techniques tailored to each of our patients, in order to support your unique needs and goals.

We enjoy seeing our patients becoming better versions of themselves and help keep them accountable through frequent office visits as well as phone calls and texts messages filled with attention, motivation and reminders to keep health as their number-one priority. After all, health is the greatest wealth one can ever have.

As one of the few primary care doctors in the capital region offering this personalized healthcare approach, I feel blessed to be able to deliver patient-centered medicine and preventive care with the MDVIP experience. I also offer conveniences, like same- or next-day appointments that start on time, which may be found in concierge medicine practices. 

My primary care practice is conveniently located off Bluebonnet Blvd. in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and currently serves the greater Baton Rouge area, Prairieville, Gonzales, St. Amant, Denham Springs and Livingston. I am affiliated with Baton Rouge General Medical Center and am fluent in English, French and Hindi.

And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.

After seeing 2 different doctors and being diagnosed as a Type 2 Diabetic, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, I figured my life would be full of different medications and complications. They had both given me the typical Metformin and Statin scripts, and I struggled. In fact, my A1C rose from 11.1 to over 14!
A friend recommended Dr Raina, whom I finally went to see 2 months ago. Thank God!
Dr Raina and her staff are AMAZING! Not only did they make me feel at ease and very comfortable, she explained things to me in simple, understandable terms, and came up with a plan of attack as opposed to simply prescribing all these different meds.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!
I’ll spare you all the details, but my A1C is at 6.5, and my other numbers have all “normalized”. In addition, along with the new med and the diet, I’m the lightest I’ve been in almost 20 years!
I feel like she saved my life!

Dr Raina doctor and her staff provide the highest level of care that I have ever received. I love the level of service I get with MDVIP and it is completely worth every penny.
