My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

I believe life is better when we prevent rather than react. Nowhere is that more true than with your health, but it takes a relationship between a patient and physician, the appropriate amount of time and the right resources. Prevention is my goal as we partner together using advanced testing to define your risks and then meet them head on with a preventive plan. With this personalized approach, we can manage your risks and current health problems to change the course of your future health. If the unexpected happens, I will be there for you to walk the journey together. Neither you nor I have to settle for anything less.

The practice of medicine is a complex art that requires many tools. I will combine the comprehensive approach of my Mayo Clinic training and the compassionate relationship-based care Midlothian Family Practice has provided to central Virginia for over 125 years. My MDVIP-affiliated practice, often compared to a concierge medicine practice, also offers conveniences like same- or next-day appointments. Together we can practice medicine with the relationship of yesterday and the state-of-the-art tools of tomorrow.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. King

from Sam in VA May 5, 2022 for Herb King, MD

This would have been different for me if I had experienced at a younger age the care and consultation I have received from Dr. King and his staff, especially Lauren, over the past decade. When Dr. King advised he was going to associate with MDVIP, there was no hesitation on my part to continue with him as my Primary… See more
