My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

The relationship between a patient and their doctor remains a treasured and essential pillar in promoting a person’s well-being. Their trust is built on the foundation of the physician’s capabilities to navigate both the patient’s health background and accommodating one’s individualized preferences. My MDVIP-affiliated, personalized medicine practice, similar to concierge medicine, allows me to spend an extensive amount of time with each of my patients to better understand their unique needs. This level of dedication and patience has become especially hard to find in today’s high demand and fast-paced practice of medicine.

My expertise in improving your health comes from being dually board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine & American Osteopathic Association followed by four intense years of practicing internal medicine as a full time hospitalist at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, New York; a high volume, busy institution that is known as Long Island’s top cardiac center. A hospitalist spends every work day as the lead attending in managing their patients’ care and coordinating treatment plans with the other medical specialists in the hospital. Though a considerable number of the patients I encountered were geriatric, many also had serious cardiovascular diseases, while some had complicated chronic disorders that needed close attention.

In addition, I maintain employment and admitting privileges at several other New York hospitals including Montefiore Nyack Hospital in Nyack and Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue. My experience in treating the sickest and most challenging cases has given me great perspective in guiding you toward maintaining your health and wellness for many years to come. I am also an avid swimmer and skier, enjoy exploring diverse worldwide cuisine and speak fluent Russian as well as Spanish. I hope to share these fitness hobbies and passions with you on your path to a healthier lifestyle!

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Elman

from Martin in NY February 28, 2020 for Igor Elman, DO

Dr. Elman is willing to have a conversation on health without checking his
wristwatch. He apparently is conversant with the latest issues in senior health
such as use of probiotics and vitamin supplements and his advice is suggestive
as to what are proper behavioral guidelines to follow re; diet and exercise.
In short, in the brief time I have been a patient, he seems… See more
