About Irene Perloff, MD, DO, FACP

I’ve been practicing internal medicine for over 30 years. I first received my medical education in my hometown of Moscow, Russia. When I immigrated to the United States 20 years ago, I was faced with the challenge of learning a new language and undergoing my medical school education again from the start. Having a dual education as a Medical Doctor and Doctor of Osteopathy, along with vast experience, allows me to provide my patients with personalized healthcare. I focus my insight on wellness and prevention. As a member of my MDVIP-affiliated practice, you will be welcomed into a warm family atmosphere accompanied by expertise, compassion and understanding.

Practicing great medicine includes an invaluable partnership between doctor and patient – a partnership based on mutual trust and respect that must be earned, not given. One of the most valuable resources I have as an MDVIP-affiliated primary care physician is time. I have time to spend with you, time to develop a close relationship with you and time to care for you as if you were a member of my family. Similar to conveniences often associated with concierge medicine practices, I also offer same- or next-day appointments that start on time. As your private doctor, we can work together as a team to formulate a wellness plan that will help you achieve peak health and longevity.

My primary care practice is located in Brooklyn, New York, however many of my patients come from all over New York City, Long Island, New Jersey and Connecticut. I provide care that can help turn the hope of a happy, healthy future into a reality. With over 30 years of practicing medicine, and 15 years in this community, I have relationships with many experienced specialists to help you with your unique needs. I may be your internal medicine physician, but I also enjoy focusing on cardiovascular health, diabetes, hypertension and preventive medicine.

In addition to managing illness, I have strong personal interests in wellness care, integrative practice and proactive medicines that are designed to keep you at your healthiest. My goal is not only to prevent you from getting sick, but to also respond promptly if you contract an illness so that we will be able to diagnose you at an early stage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
