About James B. Baker, DO, FACOI
My passion as an internal medicine physician is to provide you with highly personalized healthcare with an emphasis on prevention and wellness. In my MDVIP-affiliated practice, I will treat you as though you are family. I'll have the time to develop closer relationships, review new and old records, and perform more comprehensive evaluations and exams. As your doctor, I want to work with you as a team to develop a plan to achieve your healthcare goals.
With 25 years of practicing internal medicine in this community, I have good relationships with many specialists to help guide you, if needed, with your unique healthcare needs. I am a board certified internist and Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internists. It was an honor to be given the Most Outstanding Medical Graduate Award in 1986. I was chief of my internal medicine resident class, and it was a privilege to be President of the Arkansas Osteopathic Medical Association from 2013-2014.
My interests are in cardiovascular health, diabetes and preventive medicine. I also have an interest and extra training in autoimmune diseases. My staff privileges are at three of our local hospital systems, Regency Select Hospital, Northwest Arkansas Rehabilitation Hospital and the Circle of Life Hospice where I work on weekends as a staff physician.

Excellent medical care
Encourages practices to secure healthy living

Myself and a few of my friends and family members are patients and have joined MDVIP because it was so highly recommended. It has been the best experience and I couldn’t recommend a better doctor.
However, getting through to anyone at his office is rare. It takes days, if at all, to get a phone call returned and 80 percent of the time that I have called during regular business hours, it goes to voicemail. I have been a patient there for almost 3 years and I have had this experience for the past 6 months and it has gotten worse. At times, a week will go by before you hear back.
For as much money as concierge services cost, I would expect better acknowledgement and correspondence from his staff. I am considering losing Dr. Baker as a my doctor because of this concern.

to my family and friends. He is one of the most caring person for my medical. personal, and physical needs. I rate him in the most highest regards.

Thanks, Marie Wynn

Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
