About Janet A. Robertson, MD
My goal as your personal physician is to provide you with high quality, personalized healthcare to effectively diagnose and treat current health issues and establish long-term wellness strategies. I believe that medicine is an art and a science. In a traditional physical diagnosis, a hands-on and ears open approach to a patient’s personal history is key, as well as fully utilizing the cutting-edge tools of diagnosis and treatment available to us today.
Practicing good medicine requires a partnership between doctor and patient, based upon mutual trust and respect. This relationship is built on, and nurtured by, individual attention, since no two people are the same. I am dedicated to achieving this goal by devoting the necessary time to listen and to answer your individual concerns and questions in a stress-free and welcoming environment. As an MDVIP-affiliated primary care physician, I will be uniquely positioned with ample time to further develop these essential relationships.
I am board-certified in Internal Medicine, with particular interests in cardiovascular health, diabetes, integrative medicine and preventive medicine. I have been providing primary care to Morris and Somerset Counties for 25 years, serving Bernardsville, Basking Ridge, Far Hills, Bedminster, Morristown and other nearby communities. I am an attending physician at Morristown Medical Center and have long-standing professional relationships with the area’s medical specialists.

Reviews from the web

In recent years I found that I was not content with the doctors in Flemington and found my way back to Dr. Robertson. It was like coming home.

excellent bedside manner. The office staff are very welcoming and accommodating.

Now I live a half-hour drive from Dr. Robertson’s office, but the care I get from her is worth the drive. She and her staff create a welcoming, caring environment in the office that puts me at ease. I have always felt that I’m getting a thorough checkup, and since Dr. Robertson joined MDVIP, I feel that even more. I know so much more about my body than I ever knew before! The precision of the reports that are created after my annual exam boggle my mind, and Dr. Robertson spends a generous amount of time explaining all of the results.
The one problem I have struggled with for most of my life is weight. I’ve never been extremely overweight, but it’s been an ongoing battle. On occasion Dr. Robertson has given me doses of “tough love,” but I never feel shamed or talked down to. I feel more motivated to “right size” myself after a visit with her.
My history with Dr. Robertson is better than any other doctor I’ve had and I hope she never retires!

Dr Robertson’s secretary Joan is extremely helpful in getting appointments and I had a great friendly manner.

Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
