About Jatinder Marwaha, MD, FACP
I am an internist in beautiful San Ramon, California, providing personalized medical care. I have been in the Bay Area and part of this community for more than 30 years. I am board certified in internal medicine, sleep medicine, hospice and palliative care. In addition, I have hospice medical director certification as well as medical director certification from AMDA The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine™. I have admitting privileges at San Ramon Regional Medical Center, where I served as chief of staff from 2019-2020.
I have a special interest in antiaging and preventive care focused on helping detect metabolic syndrome, diabetes, heart disease, dementia and cancers where possible. I also work with my patients on lifestyle changes, including dietary interventions with high protein intake (when appropriate) and exercise regimens.
The annual Wellness Program offered in my MDVIP-affiliated practice comprises advanced screenings and tests that can help identify certain risk markers. The program features lab work and assessments for diabetes, bone health, fitness, sleep, emotional well-being and more. The results can help give us a deeper picture of your health and aid in designing a wellness plan as you work to improve your health now and for the future.
I can work with my patients as they pursue not only living longer, but also healthier. I believe being healthier can help patients enjoy life engaging and participating with family and friends and help them thrive the in activities they most enjoy.
In my many years of practice, I have found that often, as we age, we are unable to maintain a healthier weight and get enough sleep. I believe both are essential to the goal of improved health and longevity. I offer medically supervised weight loss programs tailored to individual goals. I can also offer a home sleep test to help detect conditions like sleep apnea, along with sleep interventions. It has always been my goal to make a difference and help in areas like these, which I feel is my purpose as a physician.
As an MDVIP-affiliated physician, I am thrilled to have more time to sit down with every patient and work with them on their individual goals and celebrate achieved milestones. I feel healthcare is personal and should not be a cookie cutter approach, as I often see happening in our healthcare system today. I prefer to provide care in the style of a “neighborhood doc.” I aim for my patients to feel confident that they are receiving individualized care at any decade of life.

Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
