My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

My goal is to be there for my patients when they need me. If they need to be seen in the clinic quickly, I will be there. If they are in the hospital, the nursing home or need me at their home, I will be there. I want to get back to the “old school” way of being a doctor, where the doctor is there on the other end of the phone when you need them. I want to be with my patients at every step of their life, and help them live longer, healthier lives.

from Mark April 4, 2017 for James D. Quarles, MD

in 2013, I was experiencing some pretty unpleasant medical issues. I had recently been wrongly diagnosed with COPD among other things by a Nurse Practitioner. I was seriously convinced that I was going to die -and felt so.

A close friend of mine recommended that I contact Dr. James Quarles. She said that he is the best doctor in the area. I called his office, he accepted me as his… See more

The last year has been a physical and emotional pinball machine for Kay and me. Dr. Quarles is a confident servant leader who communicates to inform, not impress and demonstrates professional attitude, appearance, performance and conduct in all he does. And, he accomplishes all that while remaining a great guy! If there's a better doc out there I wanna met her or him.

Dr. Quarles always listens to our health concerns, answers our questions with detailed explanations and provides a very friendly beadside manner during our visits. To me he is the best doctor we have every had as our primary care physician.

from JOHN in KY March 27, 2017 for James D. Quarles, MD

Thank you for being my primary doctor. You are always here for me, through Brenda's texting and/or calling, or visits to your office. That is so important as is the foresight of knowing when it is time to see someone else with specific expertise for my need. Being the one to care for me when needing to be hospitalized at FRMC gives both of us comfort in your knowledge of my history and… See more

He is the best doctor in this region. The staff are accommodating and personable. The two add up to make the entire relationship an easy positive experience.

from Ruth in KY March 26, 2017 for James D. Quarles, MD

My husband and I are both diabetic and have several health problems related to diabetes. We see several specialists and had been using a family doctor who is affiliated with the hospital where our specialists are, thinking that would help coordinate our care and keep everyone in the loop. But what we experienced over and over is that, that doctor and his staff see so many patients that they… See more
