About Jeffrey Carley, DO
I have always loved helping people and I came to practice medicine to help make a difference in people's lives; to bring comfort and healing wherever possible to the mind, body and spirit of each of my patients. My career passion is providing comprehensive, holistic medical care. I have always taken my education seriously and strived to pay careful attention in my studies and over my 24 year career. This dedication to medicine began after I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Loyola University Chicago and then completed my medical training at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine near the top of my class.
Earlier in my career, I served as chief intern and chief administrative resident during my postgraduate training, where I learned the foundation of my caring practice style, and I helped educate hundreds of doctors in training in those methods.
I began my patient-focused medical practice in Kings Mountain, NC, over 20 years ago. One of my core insights is that the medical knowledge a physician has can be most useful when they combine it with compassion and individualized care for their patients. I believe that many conditions, such as metabolism concerns, fatigue, memory loss, cardiovascular disease, kidney dysfunction, liver disease and arthritis, should not be brushed off as normal aging but ought to be evaluated using an integrated, interconnected perspective.
My MDVIP-affiliated practice welcomes members of all ages from the surrounding areas of Kings Mountain, Shelby, Gastonia, Bessemer City, Grover, Cherryville and Lincolnton, North Carolina, and Blacksburg, Gaffney and Clover, South Carolina, who desire comprehensive, caring, holistic medical care that values each individual. I have more time to listen to your health needs, partner with you to develop plans to help you address medical issues, and offer follow up care. Outside of the annual MDVIP Wellness Program I offer, I can support patients with osteopathic, anti-aging and skin concerns when clinically appropriate. As time considerations in my MDVIP-affiliated practice are less demanding than in traditional practices, I have more time to apply my knowledge and experience to many key areas of your health.
My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices. I also offer conveniences like same- or next-day appointments with minimal waiting.
My availability during and after hours combined with over 24 years of experience and my dedication to compassionate primary care help me partner with patients as they work to address and prevent health problems. I aim for my independent practice to be a place where patients can come for holistic medical guidance. I can support you in your daily efforts to pursue more optimal health and medical, mental and athletic fitness. I can refer you to an array of specialists if needed.
In addition, I work with Raleigh Durham Medical Group as director of Carley Family Care and as a principal investigator for Clinical Research Center of the Carolinas. As a team physician with Kings Mountain High School and Gardner-Webb University for over a decade, I have been helping athletic trainers work to maximize the sport fitness of athletes.
Please know that I would love to be your dedicated, experienced, compassionate, holistically trained guide, coach, educator and supporter in your efforts to maximize your health. I strive for each patient to receive more personalized care, more time and more attention in my MDVIP-affiliated practice.

Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
