About Jeffrey Goodsell, MD
As a premed student shadowing doctors, I remember being so impressed by the primary care physician who looked over his schedule and could tell me something about each patient we would see that day. Similarly, I knew a local family doctor who was able to use the information he had gleaned over years of caring for multiple generations of a family to inform how to address the needs and concerns of one particular mother.
As I’ve continued through my medical career, I have experienced over and over again that personal connections and the development of long-term relationships are where I gain my greatest sense of fulfillment. These stronger relationships, I believe, can translate to more personalized care. This is one of the primary benefits I see in my MDVIP affiliation for both my patients and me.
I am excited to practice in the MDVIP-affiliated model, in which I have more time to spend with patients and build the physician-patient partnership. Located conveniently just off Route 2 in Glastonbury, CT, I see patients from Hartford and Middlesex Counties and surrounding communities. My privileges at Middlesex Hospital can help me advocate for patients at Yale New Haven Health, Middlesex Health, Hartford HealthCare and others. I have more time to speak with specialists and gain insight into my patients’ interactions with these health systems. Similar to conveniences often associated with concierge medicine practices, I also offer same- or next-day appointments.

I have known Dr. Jeffrey Goodsell for over seven years and have been consistently impressed with the exceptional care, treatment, and genuine kindness he has shown me throughout that time.
When Dr. Goodsell first announced that he was leaving Higganum Family Practice, I was devastated to think I would be losing such a wonderful provider. However, when my wife and I moved to The Residence at Glastonbury, I was thrilled to learn that Dr. Jeff was opening his concierge practice, Fireside, just five minutes from our new home.
As my wife and I have grown older, we have longed for medical care the way it once was—care built on a true relationship with a physician who knows you personally and understands your unique medical challenges. Dr. Goodsell has always embodied this kind of care.
Over the years, Dr. Goodsell consistently advocated for me with my cardiologist’s office to ensure that appropriate tests and scans were ordered to monitor my aneurysm, a condition that tragically took my father’s life.
Shortly after we joined the Fireside Concierge Practice, we unexpectedly found ourselves in an emergency situation when my wife experienced a severe meltdown in the memory care unit—one that my daughter and I were unable to manage. I called Dr. Jeff, and he answered immediately. Without hesitation, he came right over and made a house call. Had it not been for him, the facility likely would have called an ambulance and sent my wife to the emergency room. Instead, Dr. Jeff calmly walked my wife and daughter around the unit for over an hour and later provided the facility and nurses with clear instructions should such a situation arise again.
On numerous other occasions—whether I needed verification for physical therapy, assistance obtaining a handicapped parking permit, or urgent lab work for a possible urinary issue—Dr. Goodsell responded promptly, even on weekends, always without hesitation or impatience.
More recently, late one Saturday night after dinner, it became apparent that the facility’s pharmacy had mistakenly removed a critical anxiety medication from my wife’s evening prescriptions. Once again, Dr. Jeff took my call, spoke directly with the facility nurse, and promptly faxed the necessary prescription to both the pharmacy and nursing staff, ensuring my wife received her medication that very night.
Dr. Goodsell has also been willing to intervene on behalf of both me and my daughter when we believed the facility was making inappropriate decisions regarding my wife’s medical care. During this challenging and stressful stage of our lives, he has truly been a godsend to our family.
Even while establishing his new practice and renovating an old building for his permanent office, Dr. Goodsell has continued to provide us with immediate, compassionate care—treating us as though we were members of his own family.
