One thing that stands out for me about the support and interaction between Dr. Ruh and my family was the time I found myself on vacation in Italy and discovering I did not have my meds. The long and short of my problem was, at the last minute while checking in for our vacation flight, instead of carring onboard our luggage, we decided to chech them. Once we were in Europe, we discovered our bags were missing. That was bad enough, but the real health problem did not occur to me until after we unpacked what we had with us. That is when I realized my meds were in my checked bagage. Then I mistakenly assumed the bags would show up the next day or two. Very wrong! After realizing it would be more than a day or two without my meds and starting to feel the diffence. Not thinking of the time difference, I called her to see what she could do to help me. It turned out it was 6:00 a.m. in the morining her time. She answered my call while she was out on her morning jog. She sent me a list of the meds I needed so I could get a Italian Doctor to prescribe them for me. The good thing was we had singed up for travel insurance and the insurance companiy was able to connect me with a local Doctor to prescribe what I needed. Up to this point, all of these actions had taken place via the phone and texts within hours of my call to her. Thanks to her efforts, my problem was taken care of within 24 hours of her responding to my call for help! Thanks to her detication, I was able to continue our trip.
