About Jennifer Wurst, MD

Being a family doctor is a dream come true for me. Helping patients who are hurt or sick or scared is an amazing feeling. I also love celebrating wins with them - when they are feeling better or reach a weight loss goal or are able to stop one of their medications. These moments are truly the highlight of my day, my week, my career.

My passion is to work with you as your personal family doctor to help you pursue a healthier life. Whether you’re seeing me for a preventive care visit, MDVIP Wellness Program services, an illness or injury, we can work together as partners to help identify and discuss concerns and develop plans that could help proactively address problems.

My focus is on taking care of the whole person in a holistic manner. Areas of special interest in my practice include weight loss, nutrition and comprehensive women's care. My board certification in integrative medicine provides me an unusually diverse medical toolbox.

I enjoy speaking with my specialist colleagues as well as providers, such as chiropractors, massage therapists, acupuncturists and dietitians, who could support my patients with outside-the-box solutions. My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices. 

Having practiced in Northern Ohio since 2000, I have staff privileges at University Hospitals (UH) Parma Medical Center and am a faculty member in Case Western Reserve University Department of Family Medicine and Community Health.

I began seeing Dr. Wurst while she was practicing in the University Hospital system. She then moved to private practice and I followed her. She is attentive and compassionate as well as ethical. Dr. Wurst takes time to listen and then responds. I do not feel rushed as she affords me the time I need to ask questions. I am 76 years old and as such have plenty of experience with Doctor visits so consequently I feel blessed to have her in my life. I have had over five physicians in the past two years leave their respective practices. This is is really unsettling so I am especially happy to have Dr. Wurst as my doctor!

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
