About John J. Hobson, MD
Wellness allows us the opportunity to practice the art of being fully human and to give life your best. The portal to wellness is the doctor-patient relationship. The foundation of that relationship is trust, confidence and partnership between the patient and the doctor, creating an environment for wellness and well-being to thrive and empower. By building a close doctor-patient relationship, I empower my patients to act as advocates for their health and wellness.
The approach, "Tincture of Time" has a new found relevance in this information rich, evidenced-based, high tech/low touch industry we call the Health System. My partnership with MDVIP has enabled me to centerpiece the time quality back into the doctor-patient relationship. I have the time to listen, the time to understand, the time to act and advise, the time to care, the time to comfort, the time to console and the time to visit my patients at the hospital.
My primary care practice focuses on internal medicine and serves communities in Delaware County, including Bryn Mawr, Gladwyne, Ardmore, Devon, St. Davids, Radnor, Berwyn, Wayne, Villanova and Malvern.

Much better than Marcus Welty, Dr. Kildare and Ben Casey combined. Need I say more ?
he always has a great outlook on life and helping his patients. The entire relationship is my story !
is what stands out---and my daughter is a neurosurgeon and son is in medical school. His assistant Nancy is also a standout and a super lady ! Kudos to both of them !

Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
