About Joshua Nguyen, MD
My passion as a primary care physician is health education, whether I'm involved with the training of medical or nursing students. I feel that knowledge should be shared with patients as well. As a family physician, I believe that preventive medicine requires more than just the disbursement of medications. I feel strongly that an informed patient is healthier and happier. In my MDVIP-affiliated practice, we constantly strive to provide everyone with individualized and personalized healthcare services. I do not take lightly the privilege that comes with being a primary care provider.
I may be your family physician, but I also have special interests in migraine headaches, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and wellness. Our office has been located in the Galleria area of Houston since 2005. We are affiliated with Methodist, St. Luke's and the Memorial Hermann hospital systems.

Dr. Nguyen is a very caring and conscientious Doctor. He listens completely to what you say and acknowledges your concerns. He will explain logical answers and solutions. As I am getting although I don't like to admit it. Dr. Nguyen focuses on me as a whole person and suggests several things I can be doing to help my body & mind to improve the aging process. Dr. Nguyen is awesome! Very personable. I always feel very comfortable with him. He's extremely knowledgeable and when he speaks to you, you can feel that he really cares. His staff is also amazing! I came to see Dr Nguyen after I changed my insurance ,he is in network and close to my place . I was impressed by his patience and care . He is very knowledgeable and carefully explain details about my concern. He takes time to listen which I did not see at most of other office . Also the staff is very friendly. I've been a patient of Dr. Nguyen's since probably near the beginning of his practice and can't imagine ever changing doctors. He's incredibly thorough and attentive - and has never rushed through an appointment. No matter the question, if he doesn't know the answer - and even if he does - he pulls up information from the internet to help explain. If I could give more than 5 stars I certainly would!

Dr. Nguyen has been our family physician for many years. He took over Augusta Family Medicine when Dr. Naftalin retired. He has been a dedicated caretaker for my husband and myself, my sister and my mother-in-law. He goes one step further by listening to your issues and addressing them ALL. He is concerned not only with your physical health but your emotional and mental well being. Could not ask for a better family physician. Dr. Nguyen was the ONLY doctor after seeing three other physicians reading my blood test results that could tell me what was wrong with me. I believe it was because he had an understanding of elevated liver enzyme issues in the Asian culture, specifically the Chinese. He knew China has the highest deaths stemming from Liver Cancer. No other doctor I saw, figured it out just by looking at me. One doctor wrongly removed my gallbladder thinking it was the gallbladder that elevated my liver enzymes. Nope. It was an unnecessary operation that did not change my liver enzymes. Ugh. Go see Dr. Nguyen. He has great bedside manner and is very knowledgeable. I moved to another state and I wish he had his practice near AZ instead of Houston, Texas!

today was my first day visiting the practice and meeting DR Joshua and his team. He is a wonderful, God sent doctor. His bed side manner is what is lacking with many doctors now a days and he has above all matters-- PATIENCE. I will be returning to continue some services I need. I will keep you posted on if anything changes, but as of today I am truly grateful I've hopefully met a doctor who is humbles and truly cares about his patients. Have a blessed day.

Called to be a new patient, scheduled an appointment, and was told they would email me my new patient paperwork. I never received and I called to find out why not the lady was so rude I cancelled my appointment and going to find another doctor who has a professional staff. Terrible customer service and if this is the type of people working the front desk I would not waste my money to pay from services at this location!!! The doctor needs to reevaluate his staff members and train them on how to be professional and polite to patients.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience.
