About Karen Murray Radley, MD

My ancestors were Utah pioneers. My great-grandmother was the healer in the family. She kept an old book of medicine that she passed down to my grandmother and then to me. Growing up, I was fascinated by this book and the idea that they did what ‘medicine’ they could to treat the family who lived a hard frontier life and survive.
Growing up, we lived next door to my grandparents and took care of them. Taking care of my grandmother and seeing her struggle with her health issues that included diabetes made me even more interested in medicine. I would get teased by my parents that I needed to get married to a doctor someday. My response was, “I don’t need to marry a doctor, I am going to be the doctor.”
My career as a family physician has taken me from the Uintah Basin, where I grew up, to the Wasatch Front for undergraduate and medical school, then to northern Utah in the Ogden area for residency, followed by central Utah working in Price City for 14 years as a family physician. Finally I landed in southern Utah, where I have served southwest Utah and northwestern Nevada since 2014.
In my MDVIP-affiliated practice, I can see patients from newborn through the end of life. I am affiliated with Intermountain Health St. George Regional Hospital, but my practice is a private and independent, not owned by any hospital system.
Throughout my career, I have continually strived to provide more personalized, individualized care. I feel my time can often be best spent focusing on prevention, and thanks to the annual Wellness Program I offer, I can assist in identifying risk markers and helping patients work toward preventing problems from becoming more serious. I believe the focus should be on the patient, using a shared approach to create a wellness plan that will work for them in their world.
I focus on a whole-body approach that also includes the mind and spirit. My definition of a win in medicine is supporting patients as they pursue taking care of themselves and working toward their health and wellness goals with my guidance.
My MDVIP-affiliated practice gives me more time to focus on delivering more personalized, individualized care. I work to stay abreast of updates in medicine, which I can share with my patients.
I look forward to partnering with you as you pursue your health and wellness goals. Come join me on this journey!

I would encourage Dr. Radley to stop spreading dangerous lies. I received this message via email from Dr. Radley's office: "This message is to let you know that flu season is around the corner. Flu vaccination is indicated for anyone six months and older. It is especially important for anyone who is at high risk of complications should they get the flu (such as people greater than 65 years of age, pregnant women, or those with chronic illnesses such as Asthma or Diabetes). It is recommended by the CDC to get the flu vaccine PREFERABLY IN OCTOBER TO MOST MAXIMIZE YOUR IMMUNITY FOR THE PEAK OF THE INFLUENZA SEASON!!!
I know you are seeing vaccine available now but I ask you to please be patient for your own health. It is estimated that after the initial surge of immunity, your immunity may drop. Make sure you have PEAK IMMUNITY during the PEAK OF THE FLU SEASON which is usually mid-January to February. This will be best done by getting the vaccine in OCTOBER."
And please take responsibility for harming your patients.

My previous Review:
I wasn't impressed. I went in with a list of complaints, but Dr. Radley was determined to focus on perimenopause due to my age. I was interested in resolving a severe case of anemia. Based on my symptoms, I asked her to run some tests. She told me to be quiet, that she is the one who determines the tests that needed to be run. Wow. I told her that I react negatively to medications and supplements, sometimes severely. I had some questions, and her reaction was to treat me like an idiot and draw me a picture of my uterus and a graph of my cycle; like I don't already know. It was humiliating. My check out paperwork emphasized perimenopause. She was determined to direct the conversation. I got the results back, and it showed my anemia worse than it has ever been. She never reached out. I got a filtered text that recommended iron infusion - this, after telling her that I cannot take supplements, and an infusion would most likely put me into anaphylactic shock. The worst part was when I received 3 advertisement texts in 2 weeks, reminding me that I could get my 'recommended' Covid shot in her office. If you're a clinician today who is still pedaling Covid shots, after all that we know - you ARE the problem. I will never return to this office, ever.

Dr Radley has been my primary doctor for eight years. I'm aging and have had several different health issues, she has taken care of all my problems very well. She is easy to talk to.

I see Babara Hilton NP, she is fantastic in that she is knowledgeable, shows sincere care, and provides a path to wellness. She has kindly tolerated my fear of needles too! The other members of the office have been professional and polite, I'm glad to receive my PCP care from Barbara and this practice.

To all these ridiculous reviews of complaints about the staff, you are not the only people waiting to get a return call. This is an extremely busy practice. This is an excellent office on every level.
Dr. Radley is outstanding and so is the staff.

After not getting any sleep all night I went in first thing in the morning 7:45 AM. I knew I had a UTI so I went in to pee in a cup by 820am! My labs came back. I logged into my portal and sure enough, I had a UTI at noon when I had not heard back, I called and left a message hoping that an antibiotic would get called in so that I could get started on it. I ended up calling three more times. No one returned my call. I then called the receptionist and she sent me to the physicians assistance line that I had already left several message with! Kathy answered the phone I told her that I had been in earlier that morning and had taken a urine test and that I in fact had a UTI. I explain to her that I haven’t slept all night and that I have been miserable all day long because anyone who has ever experienced a UTI knows it’s extremely uncomfortable and painful! However, Kathy was very unsympathetic and basically told me that until she had the opportunity to talk to Dr. Radley that I would just have to continue to suffer. I informed her that at this point, I could’ve already had two doses of anabiotic, and therefore might be able to sleep tonight the only thing that she shared with me is her frustration and impatience. I am not some promiscuous girl. I happen to be a middle-aged menopausal woman who is suffering from a UTI and had hoped to get relief as soon as possible. However, that did not occur. I love Dr. Radley she takes time with me every time I go in to see her, she doesn’t rush. She is t impatient, and she answers all of my questions, and makes sure that I am comfortable before leaving however Kathy, her physicians assistant does not seem to care or have any concern about Dr. Radley‘s patients! Finally after going to the doctor at 7:45 AM at 5:30 PM. I finally got my first dose of anabiotic that is ridiculous and next time I’ll just call Teladoc!!!

Care was okay but they did labs and sent them to a place my insurance doesn’t cover. They said it was my fault because I wasn’t informed as to where they send their labs. Now I am not only having health issues but I also have a decent sized medical bill that I can’t afford. If your insurance covers them make sure you ask about if they cover your lab work at IHC or wherever they decide to send them, they will just send it out and leave you with a large medical bill that the insurance won’t pay for and their office will not take responsibility for not informing the client. Very disappointed

SUPER DISAPPOINTED!!!! I’ve been going to Karen Radley for 7 years, I’ve recently had a bad cough for about 6 months…she was horrible to us at our appointment, I’ve never been treated like that by someone in health care. She sent a referral to two places, one never got it…and the other one is permanently closed!!!!! She didn’t do anything for me and I will be finding a new doctor. Don’t go here

I saw Barbra Hilton who is Dr. Radleys NP and the whole experience was 10/10. The staff was amazing and friendly. Barbra took time with me and listened to my needs and questions. The nurse was amazing as well! Usually the nurses have a hard time find the veins in my arm to take labs from but she got right in and made it look so effortless. Seriously one of the best offices I have ever been to!

After searching for a pediatrician I found Karen Radley to do my sons circumcision. She had two learning students hold my baby down while she performed what I learned to be an outdated method which resulted in my baby having to go back in for a second circumcision. I was very upset with the way the whole situation was handled and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HER.

Dr Karen Radley is the best! Been going to her for 7 years. She is VERY smart, knowledgeable, and caring. She makes you feel like you’re her only patient she’s seeing for the day. Alway has time to listen to any issues or problems you’re having and works with you to remedy the problem. She has an awesome staff, very friendly and accommodating.

After looking for a new doctor, I came across Dr. Radley. Honestly, she was the only doctor I found that was accepting new patients. After multiple attempts to just get someone on the phone to book an appointment, I was able to get in in 2 weeks. When I arrived I was informed that I had to pay a co-pay (even though my insurance doesn't have one). The receptionist was very cold. Dr. Radley seemed nice. That is about the extent of any positive thoughts. I had to call repeatedly and send messages through their online portal for many days (even after speaking with someone that said they would call me back that day-which didn't happen) just to get my test results back. After finally getting them back, Dr. Radley seemed extremely dismissive about any possible health problems. Since then, I have learned that Dr. Radley seems to have done the basic medical service possible. Dr. Radley also sent my medication to the wrong pharmacy so I had to wait a month before my insurance would cover it (from the right pharmacy). This seems impossible to do since it was written down in a couple different places. I suggest going to a doctor that first:answers the phone, second: get back to you in a timely manner, third: will go above basic health care to find answers to your questions. I highly recommend using a different doctor.

Horrible! They charge an extra $20.00 for a statement fee. They charge you to send you a bill! Call your insurance company as this is wrong. Pam is rude and unknowledgable on how to treat a human being. The doctor/ office manager will not respond to your inquiries. To boot, the doctor misdiagnosed my problem. She was my second opinion and wasn't even in the same ballpark. Don't waste your time and money. Dirty deeds here!

It's been my experience that this office has UNRESOLVABLE ISSUES with COMMUNICATION and MEDICAL BILLING.

Back in July of 2015, I REACHED OUT to Dr. Karen Radley's office to make certain my insurance company was paying them properly. I asked them to contact me when they had the results of their research. After not hearing from Dr Karen Radley's office for months, I reached out on September 18, 2015, after they had closed unfortunately. I never heard anything from them.

The only communication I did receive was a collections notice for $20.00. I WAS STUNNED. I reached out again to speak with someone on October 23, 2015, and I did get a phone call back...TWELVE DAYS LATER! (Once again I was left shaking my head at the poor communication skills of Dr. Karen Radley's office.)

During the phone call with medical billing, I attempted to ascertain what happened so the issue could be resolved. (Matthew 18:15 right?) I was repeatedly told by Dr Karen Radley's office that they had contacted me via phone and mail. When I asked for the caller ID of the phone number used to contact me there was a brief, awkward silence. (I wanted to check my cell phone records.) After that, I knew that asking for a postage log would be useless, and that there was NO RESOLUTION to be had. I have since TURNED THIS MATTER OVER TO MY LEGAL TEAM to see what options I have to resolve this silly issue.

After all this avoidable nonsense, I sadly cannot - and DO NOT - RECOMMEND Dr Karen Radley's practice, and always make it a point to explain why.

We moved to St. George, Ut in 2014 and I was looking on line for a new primary care physician when I came across Dr. Radley's name and bio mentioning her internship at MacKay Dee hospital. As my husband is a physician and had worked with interns at the MacKay hospital in corresponding years, I asked him what he thought about my joining Dr. Radley's practice. He had only great memories of Dr. Radley's skills and abilities and was enthusiastic about my being under her care.

I saw Dr. Radley for the first time in Oct of 2014 and since that time have felt exceeding comfortable with her knowledge and skills as a physician. She is also a compassionate and kind individual who seems to care very much about her patients as individuals.

I highly recommend Dr. Karen Murray Radley.

Frequently Asked Questions

Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
