Dr. McCree Moments that Matter: The time I thought I had 3 pm appointment. There have been many times that Dr. McCree has made a difference! Above all, Dr. McCree has created a positive experience for me to stay healthy. Here is just one example: A few months ago, I called Dr. McCree’s office on a Friday afternoon to make an appointment to follow-up my Emergency Room visit for low blood pressure episodes associated with a bout of COVID. The regular receptionist was not there but the back-up person took my message and gave me an appointment for 3PM on Tuesday. I showed up in the waiting room that Tuesday afternoon and before I could sign in, the receptionist Michelle, who knew me by name, asked why I was there. She told me that I was not down on her appointment schedule. I explained my Friday afternoon call. Michelle immediately went to the back office to ask Dr. McCree if there was any way to fit me in that day since I was already there. Dr. McCree said she could see me after her next patient, and I agreed to wait. I am grateful that Dr. McCree was very accommodating to change her plans to fit me in. Dr. McCree made me feel comfortable, and if she were rushed for time at the end of the work day, she did not show it. I felt valued as a patient and my concerns were addressed with kindness and expertise. I am grateful that Michelle went the “extra mile” to check if Dr. McCree had an opening that day to see me. I appreciate Dr. McCree for being accessible, always ready to deal with my medical problems, kind in every situation, thoughtful about practical issues, and completely supportive of my efforts to be a healthy senior.

Despite being physically active, I had been battling high blood pressure and decreasing kidney function. As a former competitive Powerlifter, I was skeptical. Dr. McCree didn't push too hard, and recommended a video for me to watch including testimonials from bodybuilders that don't eat meat. Per Dr. McCree's advice, I reduced the amount of meat I consume. My blood pressure is down, and my kidney function is improved. I do a lot of bike riding, and completed my first Century ride in October. I feel that Dr. McCree, along with my wife are a big part of helping me enjoy my best life. At 63 years old I feel strong, and active.

Meet Kathi McCree, MD

Being a private family physician for over three decades, my delight has always been to engage with my patients, learning as much as I could about their individual needs, life journeys and health goals. As I learned more about nutrition, I became more passionate to educate and coach those in my care to think critically about the consequences of the choices they make. You have choices to make and desirable goals for your health. In my MDVIP-affiliated, primary care practice, we will work as a team to help you achieve your goals - whether it’s improving your nutrition, reducing your use of medications or achieving a healthy weight. Similar to conveniences often associated with concierge medicine practices, I also offer same- or next-day appointments that start on time.

My primary care practice serves the Clear Lake Area including communities in Webster, Nassau Bay, Seabrook, Kemah, Friendswood, League City, Deer Park, Pasadena and Pearland. You can join my practice for distinguished preventive wellness, as well as care throughout sudden or chronic illnesses, knowing I have a keen interest in walking with you through your health journey.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience.
