About Kathryn Hinderer, DO
With over 15 years of experience practicing internal medicine, I have learned that one of the most valuable resources I have as an MDVIP-affiliated physician is more time to spend with you. It is my privilege to develop relationships with my patients personally. The more I can get to know you, the better I feel I can advise you and work with you on action plans tailored to your needs.
As one of the few female internists in Oakland County, Michigan, offering this personalized approach to medical care, I can help you make your health a priority and assist you in navigating today’s complex healthcare environment. My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advance health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices. I also offer conveniences like same- or next-day appointments with minimal waiting, and importantly, visits that are relaxed and unrushed.
As a primary care physician, I find that the enhanced doctor-patient relationship offered in my practice combined with services included in the annual MDVIP Wellness Program are key parts in helping you pursue improving your health span and meeting your health goals. (Health span is a concept referring to the number of healthier, disease-free years of life you could experience.)
I have special interests in preventative medicine and women’s health, as well as experience in reviewing many chronic diseases, such as diabetes and hypertension. I will partner with you and your specialists to help you work toward your individual health goals.
In my practice, I aim to ensure every patient receives time, one-on-one attention and personalized care, which I believe they deserve. My style is compassionate and direct, and my approach is comprehensive and holistic. My wonderful staff and I look forward to welcoming you to our Clarkston, MI, office. We are pleased to serve Clarkston as well as the surrounding communities of Waterford, Independence Charter Township, Auburn Hills and Holly.

She or the Staff (Sue) will always call to check on how things are going with treatments.

My husband I and just recently went to Florida and we ate at a Tiki Bar and I ended up getting Salmonella on Tuesday 3-5-24. I threw up Tuesday night and Wednesday thru Friday I was having extreme diarrhea, volumes of diarrhea and vomiting. I called Dr. Hinderer and she said go to the hospital and get IV for liquids. I have chronic kidney disease and low potassium due to COVID. I went to the hospital and got 2 IV's and medicine in the IV for the stomach cramps. I continued to have major diarrhea thru Saturday and some on Sunday. I was so dehydrated I ended up with Rhabdomyolysis. At this point I was so weak I could hardly walk or lift my arms or legs and I was in major pain and all muscles just throbbing. We got home Monday 3-11-24 and Tuesday Dr. Hinderer said to come in she wanted to do blood work on me again due to my chronic kidney failure and low potassium. When she tested for Rhabdomyolysis it measured 3000. She said to pound down the liquids or I would have to go to ER for another IV. I followed her instructions and went to see her again Thursday 3-14-24 where she did more blood work and my Rhabdomyolysis went down to 1800. I will see her again on Tuesday 3-19 for more blood work. Dr. Hinderer again saved my life. She is an incredible Dr. I am so blessed to have her as my Dr.
and her staff is amazing as well. I would never want to lose her as my Dr. and if I was financially strapped I would sacrifice something else to continue being her patient.

After years of going from Doctor to Doctor with Migraines and other Medical issues,Doctor Hinderer was the only one that found the right medications to control the Migraines. She actually listens to her patients and genuinely cares. She is now MDVIP concierger . She is definitely worth it. Thank you for being the best Doctor I've ever had.

Dr Hinderer is very personable and goes out of her way to get the job done. The team of doctors Dr. Hinderer has referred me to are great. I am very confident in my care.

Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
