About Keefe H. Lobb, DO

With over 10 years practicing primary care in the Richmond, Virginia, area, I have built relationships with many specialists as well as hospitalists. My personalized family medicine practice is located in Midlothian, Virginia, and I serve patients from the Greater Richmond metro area, as well as the surrounding counties of Chesterfield, Powhatan, Amelia, Goochland and Henrico.  I am a member of the medical staff at Chippenham Hospital and Johnston-Willis Hospital, as well as Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center, St. Mary’s Hospital and Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center.

As an osteopathic family medicine physician, I am deeply committed to providing holistic healthcare by developing enduring partnerships with my patients. Through these relationships, I can help individuals with chronic illnesses and assist them as they work toward prevention in an effort to live a more fulfilling life. Eight years in the U.S. Air Force helped to strengthen my self-discipline and taught me to lead by example, maintaining a daily exercise routine, along with a healthy diet.

As your personal primary care physician, I have particular interests in preventive care, musculoskeletal health/sports medicine, cardiovascular health, diabetes and chronic diseases. My goal is to not only help you work toward your longevity but also support you as you pursue maximizing your health span (a concept referring to the number of healthier, disease-free years of life you could experience).

My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medical practices. I also offer same-day or next-day appointments. I perform minor in-office surgical procedures and offer in-office X-ray when indicated.

Dr. Lobb is currrently my 86 yr old Mother's doctor. I can't thank him enough for his patience, compassion, and understanding. He is always polite and respectful when seeing my Mom as I am in attendance during the visit to ensure my Mom remembers any instructions or advice he may have for her. He had some really big shoes to fill after Dr. Barnes retired and I am happy to say that he is doing a great job!

Dr. Lobb is very thorough and knows exactly how to prescribe the right medications to relieve your issues. He is very good & I would recommend him fully! I went to John Barnes, who when he retired, I thought there couldn't be another doctor to fill his shoes! Dr. Lobb is every bit as good. I'm very happy & satisfied with him!

Extremely condescending. Fiancé and I had Dr. Lob for a bit and we’ve both had multiple issues with him. He is demeaning and in our experiences doesn’t seem to care much for his patients.

Frequently Asked Questions

Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
