My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

I have a mixed educational background: I went to Texas A&M University for my undergraduate degree, and then I went to the cross-state rival University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. I worked very hard in medical school and positioned myself so that I was able to go into any specialty I wanted by the end of my fourth year. I chose family medicine because I felt that it best aligned with my aspirations to create long-lasting doctor and patient relationships that focus on prevention, not just acute care.

“To cure sometimes, to relieve often, to comfort always,” said 19th century practitioner Edward Livingston Trudeau. I felt like family medicine was my best avenue for fulfilling this aspiration. But the time consumption of running  a daily traditional practice became overwhelming. I wasn’t able to align my initial desires with day-to-day practice. That’s why I affiliated with MDVIP to have a more manageable patient load, which allows me so much more latitude being the family physician I dreamed of being.

I have been in private practice in Colleyville for 23 years, where I have offered family medicine with a full spectrum of care with a special interest in cardiovascular treatment and prevention.

Similar to concierge medicine practices, I offer conveniences like same- or next-day appointments with minimal waits.

When extra health needs arise, I will be there for you. There is no need to call an answering service: you can call my cell phone after hours and on weekends. This can help reduce visits to the ER, hospital and urgent care center when possible.

The heart of my MDVIP-affiliated practice is the annual wellness program, comprised of advanced diagnostic tests shown to help better detect certain risk factors earlier. We can leverage these more comprehensive screenings and resources to better address your unique needs and health goals. And I will have more time to help educate you on prevention as well as listen to your concerns.

It is important, now more than ever, to have a primary care doctor who has the time and resources to care for you personally and proactively. Watch this video to hear more.
