About Kimberly R. Buckman, MD
My passion as a physician has always been to care for the whole patient both physically and emotionally, with an emphasis on prevention and wellness. The trusting warm long-term relationships and friendships that I have developed with my patients have been the centerpiece of my successful Internal Medicine career. I thrive in creating a partnership with my patients through honest and open communication and education. This empowers patients to make informed decisions about their health and well-being so we can together create a livable comprehensive health care plan which manages chronic disease with a focus on maximizing their physical and emotional wellbeing.
I am a Board-Certified internist since 1996 and have practiced in Metro West Boston for the last 21 years. This is where I was born and raised and now reside with my family. I have a special interest in preventive medicine, Chronic Disease Management including Obesity, Diabetes, Hypertension, Cardiovascular disease, Women’s Health, and Mental Health. I support a holistic, integrative approach to health including diet, exercise, meditation/yoga and alternative medical care including acupuncture, chiropractic and herbal medication in addition to traditional medical care. I enjoy being outdoors doing activities such as hiking/walking/skiing, exercising, traveling, drawing, puzzles, and especially hanging out with my family and golden retriever Ginger.
At my MDVIP practice, you will always have a warm welcome and feel comfortable. I also offer same – or next day appointments in addition to services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medical practices.

Reviews from the web

So my eyes started to change and I definitely needed new glasses. When I called my long time health service, they gave me a reference to replace the optometrist I used regularly who had recently retired. A phone call later I heard, "sure we can see you in six months" as if it was my lucky day. The only lucky thing at that moment was that I had the presence of mind to immediately call Dr. Buckman's office, She was pretty much the only reason I used that particular health service before she moved on to MDVIP.. When I called her office, Enyssia told me she could handle my issue and boy did she ever. Her first suggestion, as she noted, was a five star rated optometrist (Goswick Eye, if it matters) with a location ten minutes from my home. Seconds after hanging up the phone, I received Enyssia's email and called Goswick. They had an opening in 30 minutes if I could make it. "Are you kidding me", I thought to myself. In two hours after that I had experienced a thorough exam, new glasses were ordered, a follow up appointment for next year was booked and I felt on top of the world, all because Dr.. Buckman has put together a talented and efficient team who knows how to cut to the chase and give patients what they need, when they need it. So thank you Dr. Buckman, Enyssia, Robyn, Paige, and MDVIP.

I find your monthly reviews ful of zest and encouragement. Please keep them coming. It was very nice to video chat last week and I look forward to meeting you in the office on the 28th. Louise Romania

Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
