About Kim Jay Crawford, MD
As your private doctor, it is my passion to practice personalized healthcare focused on prevention and wellness. I believe that great care is built on great relationships. First and foremost, it is my goal to offer a warm, welcoming and unhurried environment where you can share your concerns so that, together, we can overcome challenges and optimize your health. I enjoy spending time with patients, learning about their lives, understanding their worries and treating their conditions. Care in my primary care practice is personal and proactive with a strong emphasis on prevention. This approach helps patients achieve long-term and short-term health goals. My patients benefit from my well-established relationships with expert colleagues, with whom I work closely to coordinate specialty care and help manage chronic conditions.
My passion now, as an MDVIP family practice physician is to provide you personalized healthcare with an emphasis on prevention and wellness. My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices. In a warm welcoming atmosphere, I will treat you as if you are family. In medicine, the diagnosis is made with the history, sharpened by a precise skilled interview, and then the diagnosis is confirmed by the exam, therefore your medical history is a priority.
In addition to being a family medicine physician, I have special interests in infectious diseases, (especially tick-borne disease), kidney disease and heart disease. I feel challenged and qualified in the management of diabetes and hypertension. I spend time daily working with patient’s concerns about nutrition, sleep, exercise and stress management.
I am affiliated with Roger Williams Hospital and, for the past 21 years, I have primarily cared for patients in North Scituate, Rhode Island. However, I now see patients in many surrounding towns, including Smithfield, North Smithfield, Chepachet, Pascoag, Johnston, Providence, Warwick, Coventry, Foster, Exeter, Cranston and North Kingston, as well as those from Danielson, Connecticut and Attleboro and Boston, Massachusetts. I have also had several local patients move away and yet they travel as much as 100 miles to continue to be part of my exciting practice.

I guess only rich people can get health care now.
There really are not enough words to describe how wonderful
DR Crawford really is! he is seasoned doc who has seen it all
I've never asked him a question he did not have an answer to
he is very intelegent and caring and he always there when you need him. and you can talk to him about anything! he explains things very well! I was one of the first patients in his practice to get covid -19 prior to a vacine early on and it was a bad case!
doc has studied this in depth and really helped me through it and explained it so you can really understand the virus.
he does this with all of my health issues!
you would be hard pressed to find a better doctor or a better man
Thank you! DR Crawford for taking such good care of me.

Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
