About Kirti A. Chavan, MD
"Prevention is better than cure" is how I like to practice medicine, as I personally know the benefits of having a physician who can take a preventive approach to patient care. In my years of experience as an internist, I recognize there is not enough time to be as proactive as I would like due to our ever-changing and complex healthcare system.
I want my patients to enjoy the highest quality of life possible, and I feel this is achievable by having time to develop close partnerships with my patients and their families. My personalized primary care practice gives me the ability to build those partnerships without time constraints. Similar to concierge medicine practices, I also offer conveniences like same- or next-day appointments that start on time.
In addition to being an internal medicine doctor, my special interests include, primary prevention and wellness, women's health and dermatology. My dermatology training comes from College of Physicians and Surgeons of Mumbai, India and focuses on common skin disorders.
With my practice being situated in the Buckhead community, I serve patients throughout the Atlanta, Georgia area.
I am excited to partner with you and your family to provide you with the level of care and attention you deserve with the utmost compassion, respect and mutual trust.

Reviews from the web

Update 5/'29/21: Earlier this year, I contracted double Pneumonia and did not know it. When Dr Chavan learned of my symptoms by phone, she insisted that I go immediately to Piedmont Emergency. I did, and spent 5 days at Piedmont Hospital recovering. This was a serious situation. She was acutely involved in my care on a daily basis, explaining to me the procedure they were following. Thanks to her, I have completely recovered. She is an amazing physician and so caring. I am lucky to have her as my PCP and to be in her MDVIP practice.
Update 3/18/22: Earlier this year, I contracted C-diff. I was very sick and when I informed Dr Chavan of my symptoms, she immediately started me on Vancomycin, which cleared up my infection right away. She knew I had been taking two rounds of Augmentin for a lingering sinus infection, and that Augmentin was the culprit. I fully recovered and have had no further infections. She is awesome!
Update 2/7/23: I have experienced a second bout of neck pain (first time 1/22), and am being treated by my spine doctor. I have also received medical advice from Dr Chavan during each of these periods, along with appropriate medication for my symptoms. Diagnosis: Osteoarthritis in my neck. Dr Chavan has reviewed my treatment from my spine doctor and continues advice relative thereto. She is always concerned and available to help me with this issue, even though she is not primary in this instance. She is a wonderful physician.
Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
