My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

My passion as a board-certified internal medicine physician is to provide my patients with personalized care with an emphasis on prevention and wellness. My aim is to give you the tools and information that you need in your everyday life to make the right healthcare and lifestyle decisions for you and your family. I’m excited to spend more time with you in a primary care setting that will help you achieve your healthcare goals. It’s never too late to embark on a wellness journey!

With over 20 years of experience in the Greater Kansas City and Eastern Jackson County areas, I have relationships with many specialists. As a runner and athlete, I have interests in preventive medicine, nutrition, women’s health and sports medicine. I also enjoy working with patients to formulate plans for their chronic illnesses, including diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease.

My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers conveniences like same- or next-day appointments and the ability to contact me during and after hours. I look forward to seeing you in a warm and welcoming environment that will allow plenty of time to delve into your concerns and medical issues. I speak English and Thai and have a special love for giving back to our wonderful community.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Purcell

from Andrea in MO March 21, 2024 for Kulnarin Gay Purcell, MD

I wish I had enrolled and become a patient of Dr. Purcell much sooner, I didn’t realize that I could have this level of medical care locally. My goodness, the Cleveland Clinic association is a high standard. Dr. Purcell had been more responsive than I thought possible. I have never had a doctor that responds with immediate result, even on a weekend while out of town with her son! I fully… See more

from Viola in MO February 13, 2024 for Kulnarin Gay Purcell, MD

My name is Viola Gaylene Robinson and I thank God for my Doctor. When my husband passed, (he was also her patient) she was there for me, listening, seeing my tears, holding my hand and giving me heartfelt hugs, when needed. I will never forget how she and her staff treated me with their caring for me. She is always excited to see me, with a big smile on her face and I know that smile is… See more

I am an overnight pharmacist at a hospital. My physician Gay Purcell is always available yo keep me healthy. Recently I had a staff member who works the same shift with me that tested positive for influenza. I had a horrible headache and slight fever the next day. So she made sure that I had antiviral medication available. I got better within 3 days.

from Theodore in MO February 11, 2024 for Kulnarin Gay Purcell, MD

Both my wife and I are patients of Doctor Purcell. I am 77 years old and my wife is 78 years old. Doctor Purcell listens to us and knows our stories. She is patient. My complaints are very minor compared to my wife's but Doctor Purcell treats me well. Doctor Purcell ordered a brain scan for me that disclosed mild hydrocephalus and her staff bent over backwords tro obtain for me the… See more

over 20 years with Doctor, I will never change, I will either see her or no Doctor at all.

This beautiful woman has saved my life several times in the last 20 years, sometimes even when I did not want to live.
Her practice and her staff truly care about me as a person as well as a patience.

I wish there were words to describe her but none even come close to describing this… See more
