I am so disappointed in this practice! Aside from the fact that Dr Kinney wants over 3,000$ per year extra for me to stay with her practice, her front office staff should be completely replaced! I asked for my records to be transferred to another doctor and it took 3 months for this to even happen...all with me frequently calling to see if the records were transferred. When I offered to go get them and do it myself, I was told I would have to pay 200$ to get my own records! I regret ever going to this doctor!

I was a patient of Dr. Kinney's for 4 years until recently when I opted not to pay over 3,000 dollars a year to continue to remain under her care. One of the primary reasons I did not continue is that her office staff made it extremely difficult to get information and respond to request for call for either visits ir test results. Honestly, I work in healthcare and am just underwhelmed by the apparent lack of ability to even return a call. Dr. Kinney is a fine doctor who chooses to have people who don't care about calling people back or respond to their needs. As a healthcare professional I find that unprofessional.

Dr. Kinney is by far the best internist in the Charleston area. She cares , she shares, she gets things from done and that makes me happy, happy, happy!!!

Continuity of care at this practice is unacceptable. I never see the same provider, as there always seems to be a rotating group of residents. On multiple occasions, despite giving clear instructions, my prescriptions were sent to the wrong pharmacy. Calling the nurse’s line is pointless — no one answers during business hours, and it can take up to a week (if at all) to get a call back.
There has been no follow-up on critical blood tests, and in one case, the wrong lab orders were placed for a test necessary for a medication I am currently taking. That is not a minor oversight — it’s a risk to my health.
Front desk staff (with the exception of one person) have been consistently unhelpful, often citing that the practice is “overwhelmed” and lacks the staff to process faxes, test results, or arrange follow-ups in a timely manner. This reflects a complete lack of organizational structure from physicians to staff to management.
At this point, the experience is indistinguishable from urgent care — except worse, because there is no accountability. I am still waiting for a follow-up on my sleep study, and frankly, I’m left hoping nothing happens to me in the meantime.
If the practice truly is overwhelmed, then the responsible course of action is to recommend patients to another provider rather than neglect their care. Patients’ lives are not paperwork, and right now, that’s how it feels.

After about 5 years, I’ve been discharged as a patient, why? Oh, I’ll tell you, I asked about my blood sugars which had come back twice high despite fasting. When I questioned what could cause that…was it my new psych med…I was told my blood sugars had been trending upwards for two YEARS. I feel as if they had me coming in for appointments every 3 months, seeing students then the PA THEN Dr Kinney and NO ONE addressed my blood sugar being high. Then today, I called to cancel my autistic son’s appt to be told he had been discharged as a patient as well without even notifying us. In the middle of him being diagnosed with an adrenal insufficiency they changed his dosing on his prednisone and the endocrinologist was NOT happy with them. If you have “complex” medical issues, if you like to be kept in the loop on your health or you like to know when your tests are outside of the “norm” I suggest you keep looking for a primary doctor as this isn’t the place for you. Complete lack of communication with the doctor AND the staff, new students every time you go in AND you only get a 15 minute appt: which means they are ALWAYS behind.

Dr Kinney, RN Michelle Price and all their support members take excellent care of all my needs, keep me updated on vaccines, tests and provide all the necessary medical referrals to keep me in the best health condition.

Dr Kinney has been my physician since 2020. I am very fortunate and very pleased since I have a number of medical issues that have had to be addressed from other states because I happen to be there working when I was put in the hospital and Dr Kinney has always been on point I hope I never have to change Physicians, she is the absolute best. She will answer your questions she does not rush and she hears your concerns. Having the advantage of tella appointments is great for me since a lot of times I cannot leave my office. However, I am able to work in a telephone call so that we can do my medication check and then I can swing by the office early and have my blood drawn for any tests that are required. Now my daughter also sees her and I'm very happy. We consider it a blessing that we have Dr Kinney in our medical lives!

IS DR. KINNEY RUNNING A MEDICAL PRACTICE OR A MEDICAL SCHOOL??? YOU SEEM TO ONLY SEE STUDENTS AND PA'S AND CAN GO YEARS WITHOUT EVEN MEETING HER THE RECEPTIONIST IS ABSOLUTELY MISERABLE AND RUDE NEVER SEEN HER OR ANYONE IN THAT OFFICE EVER SMILE WHEN YOU WORK IN HEALTHCARE YOU HAVE GOT TO BE NICE TO PEOPLE EVERYONE IS FIGHTING THEIR OWN BATTLES AND THE "OFFICE MANAGER " AKA "DR. KINNEY'S MOTHER " MAKES IT VERY CLEAR IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY WHEN OTHER DOCTORS ARE ASKING IF DR. KINNEY HAS RETIRED BECAUSE THEY HAVE SO MANY OF HER FORMER PATIENTS THAT SHOULD TELL YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED KNOW😊

Called multiple times to schedule, the line didn’t even go to voicemail. Had to end up leaving a message on the nurses line to try to schedule an appointment. Once I finally got a hold of somebody, I was immediately put on hold for an extended period of time. They must just not be welcome to new patients - they definitely were not welcoming to me.

Staff was very professional, nurse and PA listened to all of my concerns. After listening to my concerns. Michelle examined me and discussed options and said she was going to “ Dig” until she found out what was going on with me. Before going there I thought I was going crazy, now I feel some better. I highly recommend this wonderful practice!

In more than 2 years I have never gotten an appointment with the doctor, just students. Her staff doesn’t return calls. They promised me referrals and they never followed up after I called back twice.

One great doctor here! Recently went to Er with facial paralysis and was misdiagnosed with Bell’s Palsy. Things got worse so Dr Kinney had me come in next day and immediately diagnosed me with a rare disorder called Ramsay Hunt Syndrome. Many doctors have never seen this but Dr Kinney had and knew just what to do. Thanks to Dr Kinney I am progressing nicely. Can’t go wrong here!

I'm a new patient of Dr. Kinney. As other reviewers have noted, she takes her time with you, and her bedside manner is excellent. She truly cares. Plus, for those who like me can suffer from a bit of "white coat syndrome", she has a very calm and reassuring demeanor. Her staff, including her very sweet mom, are all very nice and welcoming.

Dr. Kinney is an excellent doctor. I am very confident in all of her recommendations because she listens carefully to my concerns and is extremely thorough. She has also been able to identify the causes of issues that no other doctor could identify. I'm so glad she was recommended to me.

Dr. Kinney is extremely caring, patient, and compassionate. She takes time to explain, discuss, suggest and guide. I love her desire to understand the whole person; as her patient I find her reading in between the lines and having wisdom to detect what isn't said. She prods with gentle questions when necessary. She gives me comfort and confidence in my care.

Dr. Kinney is MY SWEET, CARING and COMPASSIONATE DOCTOR!!!!!! She really listens to me and always makes the right decisions with my medical care. Her bedside manner is awesome. She is a very warm and beautiful lady as well. I love her as a person and as a doctor.
