I recently changed my doctor to Dr. Carter and was very pleased to have done so. He is very professional, but he
still remains friendly and professional at the same time. I have confidence in his "doctor skills and feel that he really
cares about my well-being. I seem to irritate my doctors, and I feel Dr. Carter seems to have more patience with me
Than most when I don…

My first experience with concierge service: why didn't I do this sooner? Dr Carter is very knowledgeable in areas where my previous doctors have fallen short such as nutrition and individual body types/needs and all aspects of my personal history. I never even saw a prescription pad when I was in his office! He looks for solutions and reasons before jumping to a the pad. The office staff is a direct reflection of Dr. Carter: Professional and Personable. My first appointment, Dr. Carter remembered the names of my pets. What more could you ask for? I now look forward to going to the doctor.

Dr. Carter has been my primary doctor for the last several years. I have appreciated his candor, knowledge of new medical information and helping me fine tune my lifestyle so that I could lose some extra weight and increase my daily hydration. His openness to clean supplements and holistic products has been refreshing as a patient. My annual physicals are incredibly thorough, as a 72 year old woman I appreciate the extra time checking my balance, strength and mobility. The staff; Holly, Emily and Em are professional, thorough and kind. My time with Dr. Carter's MDVIP practice has been a positive experience!

I've been a member of mdvip for 3 years. I relocated to NC and seen Dr.Carter for the customary meet and greet. The "interview" consisted mainly of him gloating about his accomplishments. He simply told me that since i'm an chronic pain patient, He suspects diversion. He said he would give it a some thought and let me know at the end of the week. I spent 4 hours driving to him and meeting him and he couldn't give me the courtesy of a phone call letting me know his official decision. M d v I p's motto is let us maintain your chronic condition. Dr.Carter gave no adherence to this. Overall, I felt he was arrogant and disrespectful with no regard to my situation. This is not what i expect from a MDVIP physician.

Dr. Carter is available when I need him and I never have to wait more than a few minutes to see him or his nurses. He is straight up and honest about my health and what I need to do.

“Doctor” Carter was extremely rude to my mother when she was going through chemotherapy a couple years ago. According to her, Carter actually called her “fat” and accused her of a mess that another patient had made when they couldn’t make it to the bathroom in time. She was so taken aback by Carter’s rude behavior that she spent her entire appointment balling her eyes out with a nurse trying to console her.
I wish I would’ve taken my mother to her appointment that day so I could’ve taught “doctor” Carter some manners (my mom didn’t want to tell me or my brother at the time because she was afraid we’d pay him a visit for his rude and uncalled for behavior that day.)
Maybe I’ll see him out one day and catch up on “old times”.

Dr. Carter was able to SAVE my mother's life when her regular doctor and Heart Doctor were NOT. My Mom's blood pressure was at times (mostly during the night) at over 200/100. Dr. Carter was the only doctor that could get her on the RIGHT blood pressure medicine. Without Dr. Carter, I'm sure my Mom would have suffered a stroke. KUDOS to Dr. Carter!

Frequently Asked Questions

Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
