About Lee J. Guo, DO

Ralph Waldo Emerson said it well, "The first wealth is health." As your personal MDVIP-affiliated primary care physician, I will aim to treat and help you prevent illnesses to achieve and maintain your health. It is my goal and privilege to provide the highest level of care I can while developing a relationship with you that is rooted in communication and trust.

Growing up in Boston, I earned my undergraduate degree in Biology from Boston College and moved to Philadelphia to begin my medical education. After earning my medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, I returned to Boston for a one year clinical research fellowship at Harvard Medical School's Boston Children's Hospital where I co-authored a book chapter "Disorders of the Eustachian Tube" and contributed to an original research project "Minimally Invasive Functional Approach for Cholesteatoma Surgery." I returned to Philadelphia to complete my internship and residency in internal medicine at Mercy Suburban Hospital.

I believe medicine is a harmonious union between the art of healing and the science of diagnostics and therapeutics. Having the privilege to practice medicine over the years has helped me appreciate the unique individuality of each patient. Personalized, attentive and focused care is what my patients deserve and my affiliation with MDVIP allows me to better care for my patients and further educate them about preventive health and wellness. As the first Asian American MDVIP-affiliated physician serving the Main Line suburbs of Philadelphia, including Delaware County, Montgomery County and Chester County, I speak fluent Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese Chinese. When not in the medical office, I dedicate my time to my family, playing the piano and enjoying the grandeurs of the great outdoors.

What our members are saying

I have been a patient of Dr. Guo's since he took over the practice. He is a dedicated and caring physician who makes the time to have a meaningful conversation with me. My help has improved since I started working with Dr. Guo. I have had four major issues over the last four years and Dr. Guo has been intimate to each one as I've worked with my specialists. I had a kidney stone,…

Our Dr Schuster was retiring and we were worried about the new Doctor. Dr Lee Guo is very kind, a good listener, very good at explaining tests and procedures etc. so we felt like our good medical care continued in a very seamless easy transition.

I have ALS, so almost all of the benefits that others enjoy from their MDVIP experience do not apply to me

When our physician was transitioning to MDVIP, we were not prepared to go shopping for another PCP. We had been very satisfied with Dr. Guo and we decided to give this MDVIP a one year try. Well we have been very happy and so glad to be part of this new type of physician practice. Dr. Guo has always been a great doctor, but the increase in the individual attention and availability was particularly important in the COVID epidemic. We are definitely not thinking of leaving this practice and Dr. Guo.

Up front, it's to be granted that for the most part my health is unusually good (in my opinion) --- I am only rarely sick with anything. That being said, I appreciate Dr. Guo's approach to medicine.
Dr. Guo takes plenty of time to explain health issues and is somewhat a minimalist so far as resorting to medication to deal with a health condition --- and I very much appreciate that! He is very thorough in his analysis and explanation of my health situation --- it's very unusual to come out of one of our get-togethers with any lingering questions. He is very open and approachable for discussing any health issue that comes to my mind.

What can I say? Dr. Guo satisfies all my needs and is extremely knowledgeable in all areas of medicine and takes the time to explain the areas in which I am uncertain! He is also patient with making sure I understand his directions and explanations pertaining to my questions. I enjoy a pleasant time in his presence! How blessed am I!

Dr . Guo is a very caring and thorough Physician. Last year I had two major health issue and he was intimately involved with my Specialists they both processes. In one instance, based on my deteriorating blood work, he challenged my Specialist when the Specialist did not want to hospitalize me. He pushed the need to hospitalize me and the Specialist thanked him for the challenge. I had a great outcome. In the other instance he checked in with me everyday. He is a very caring person.

Frequently Asked Questions

Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
