Meet Lillian E. Cohn, MD, FACP
I am a female primary care physician with over 30 years of experience in internal medicine. I also have the privilege of providing personalized health and wellness care in a model. My office is in Center City, Philadelphia, and my patients come from the southeastern Pennsylvania region; New Jersey, as far away as Trenton and Cape May; Delaware, including Rehoboth; and even Maryland. I am on staff at both Pennsylvania Hospital and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and continue to teach residents and students as part of my commitment to educating the next generation of primary care physicians.
My goal as an internist is to partner with my patients so they can become better advocates for their healthcare needs and participate more in the medical decisions that can help them live healthier and happier lives. I manage both acute and chronic diseases and assist with end-of-life decisions. Because of my smaller practice size, I have time to closely listen to my patients and provide proactive medical recommendations and emotional support. My MDVIP-affiliated practice also offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices. My greatest asset is my ability to advocate for my patients' needs, and I am available for all of their questions and concerns. When I asked Dr. Cohn if she would write a letter of recommendation so I could complete the adoption process (my daughter is now 17), Lillian looked at me and said, "under one condition". You start atorvastatin and promise to stay alive so you can watch your daughter grow ..

After my family doctor of many years retired, I decided, due to my age, to try the VIP program. I find the extra time given to the patient during visits is very beneficial. I do not feel rushed or unseen. The quality of care with Dr. Cohn is wonderful. My only concern, being a person on a fixed income, is the increasing costs of the program. If you are able to afford it, it is totally worth it. I highly recommend Dr. Cohn and her staff in taking the extra care in my health.

Dr. Cohn by far is the best Internist/Family Practitioner I have worked with. I view her as part of my team in keeping be healthy and active. So I just got off the phone with the receptionist. I ask if they accept medicaid. She tells me no put the way. She says it because I'm asking, you know, okay. Well, it's what about a health Partners? No, we don't accept any medicaid. No further information. No, nothing, it was just now. We don't accept it. So for me, if again it is so hard to find a Doctor who hears and sees you.This is what we got now

I think Dr. Cohn is a very bright, knowledgeable and caring physician. Any office visits with her are always friendly and thorough with a sense of humor! Her personal assistant, Illysa, is also terrific.
In addition to my annual check-up, anytime I had a medical issue or concern, Dr. Cohn always called back in a timely fashion. If I had to be seen, the office staff was able to get me an appointment quickly.
I have referred a friend to her; she is pleased as well. I highly recommend Dr. Cohn as a MDVIP!

Lillian Cohn literally saved my husband’s life, three times in the past several years. Her instincts are excellent based on a combination of her experiences, expertise and her knowledge of her patients. She has served as the coordinator of services and advocate for the latest and best information. She calls or writes to know how my husband is doing while hospitalized, helped calm me when he was in danger of dying and generally provides a level of concern and interest that far exceeds anything I experienced prior to joining her practice. Her concern for my wellbeing during my husband’s illnesses has been sincere and generously offered. And her day-to-day care for us both is nothing short of exceptional, e.g., while trying to get my husband to gain weight while controlling his diabetes, I was able to text his blood sugar numbers daily and sometimes multiple times per day and we would work out the insulin he needed. I can not recommend her or appreciate her more.

Our children were friends, we were colleagues and we selected Dr. Cohn after our family physician retired. Dr Cohn has a strong reputation as a scrupulous advocate for her patients in the hospital where we both work (don't mess with Lil).

I've been a patient of Dr. Lillian Cohn's for more than 30 years - well before she became affiliated with MDVIP. Dr. Cohn is the sole reason I am an MDVIP patient since I did not want to lose her as my doctor. Dr. Cohn has seen me through marriage, family deaths, health issues and many other personal, private life experiences. In additional to being a caring, professional physician with a very good sense of humor, Dr. Cohn is very conscious of her patient's physical as well as mental well being and thus has also patiently listened to and helped me cope with life's ups and downs. Lillian Cohn was our physician for many years prior to her joining MDVIP. She has always been accessible, but during the association with MDVIP she has been wonderful in seeing my husband and me whenever we need her--which, given our ages of 85 and 86, has been often. The location of the office (Ninth St. Internal Medicine) is ideal for us, the staff is excellent and very personable. Dr. Cohn's commitment to her patients and her wisdom in providing advice as we age are quite remarkable. She is very elegant in appearance, which I admire. I sometimes accuse Dr. Cohn sometimes of being rather harsh with me, but her goal is to be utterly truthful and not let her patients get away with excuses or a lazy attitude toward health. She is, quite simply, the best.
