Reviews from the web
Requiring periodic urinalysis for controlled medications is not some scam or shady money grab. It is a very common requirement now because doctors are under intense pressure and regulation regarding narcotic prescriptions. Policies change, especially with concierge and MDVIP-style practices that require stricter compliance. Complaining that the office finally started enforcing the rules after previously being lenient is a strange reason to attack an entire practice.
As for the insurance coding complaint, mistakes happen in literally every healthcare system and insurance network in the country. Patients absolutely should review their paperwork and ask questions, but jumping from a coding issue to accusing a doctor of wanting to “lie, cheat and steal” is reckless and disrespectful.
Dr. Rodriguez has always been fair, caring, and professional in my experience. He actually takes his time with patients, listens carefully, and does not jump to conclusions or judge people. That is increasingly rare these days. I have always felt heard and taken seriously under his care, and I trust my health in his hands completely.
It is perfectly fine to change doctors if a practice is no longer the right fit for you. But this review reads more like anger over being asked to follow controlled medication policies than an honest reflection of the quality of care being provided.
After waiting many weeks, I called Dr Rodriguez's office. I explained that I was waiting for direction from him concerning my last visit. They said nothing was in my chart, and they would get back to me. I did receive a call from his office, but the call was garbled and I could not understand what she said. Instead of following due diligence to contact me, I was forgotten.
My Medicare policy did provide some guidance in response to my concerns.
I see this as a $2000.00 doctor visit. Obviously the MD VIP program did not work for me.
It's like the old promising the moon saying. It sounds great, but in the end, dropped the ball.
That was from my first visit. The last one I had was better. I have the MRI scheduled, thank you.
My only concern is the itchy bumps thar won't go away.
Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
