About Mary Margaret Clapp, MD
My passion as a family medicine physician is to provide you and your family with personalized care and attention to better treat your health concerns and help prevent new problems. To help accomplish this, I offer the MDVIP Wellness Program, which incorporates advanced screenings and tests that can help give us a more in-depth picture of your health.
I believe my job is to educate, coach and support, because I want to be not only your physician, but also your health coach. I work diligently to stay informed of the latest developments in medicine and wellness. As your personal primary care doctor, I can invest time to review your records more thoroughly, discuss lab results and better understand your concerns and goals. I am committed to building a strong doctor-patient relationship by being there for you and your family through health issues and illnesses and to coach you along your own path to wellness.
Similar to concierge medicine practices, I also offer conveniences like same- or next-day appointments. I aim to become partners with my patients in understanding their individual needs and creating individualized wellness strategies that can help them live a healthier life, both physically and emotionally. The MDVIP model of care better enables me to spend more time with you and give you the personal care and attention you deserve.
I also believe it is important to know a patient as a person and build a partnership so we can work to develop a customized care plan just for you. I respect your health, lifestyle, personal health goals and motivations and intend to understand the parameters that are feasible for you.
To do this, I must gather information, which I do through several avenues: giving patients unrushed time to express their concerns, both in health and life in general; noting information from previous physicians and current specialists; and taking the time to review the information, including talking directly with specialists when acute concerns arise. I try to utilize preventive care measures to help prevent problems before they arise. I like to take time to explain the purpose of an appropriate treatment to help ensure patients have a better understanding of their options.

Reviews from the web

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Clapp since before her own practice. We both love how she spends as much time with you as you need. She answers all the questions you have and is very thorough. If it wasn't from her I would be dead right now with a massive heart attack. It was her experience that had my blockage in my widow maker artery found just in time. She set me up with a cardiologist and insisted I go.
Among other issues I have had she has always been accurate with my treatment and medication.
I'm 53 years old and she is the best doctor I have seen.
Her practice is changing soon which makes me sad but I would highly recommend her to anyone.

I’m sure they are smarter anyway.
Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
