Meet Mousumi Chanda-Kim, MD

It is my firm belief that the ideal way to practice medicine is for the physician to create and nurture a collaborative bond with the patient. My goal is to build trust with my patients by getting to know each of them and to customize an individualized treatment plan. My hope is that patients feel heard and understand the compassion and empathy I feel toward each of them. In addition, I believe it is very important to be detail‐oriented and thorough to get to the root of the underlying problem in order to solve it. In providing personalized care, I strive to improve both the longevity and quality of life for my patients.

As a female internal medicine specialist who has been practicing in Austin, Texas for the last 21 years, I enjoy treating a diverse set of conditions from depression and hypertension to women’s health issues. Moreover, my real passion is preventive care and wellness, focusing on uncovering underlying conditions in their early stages before they become full blown. I look forward to focusing on prevention in my MDVIP‐affiliated practice. I also offer conveniences, like same- or next-day appointments that start on time, which may be found in concierge medicine practices. When the patient and the physician work together as a team, the results can be a wonderful life with great health!

Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

I've been seeing Dr. Chanda-Kim for more than 15 years and I think she's just great. She's always willing to take the time to talk in depth about my health issues and has a kind and direct manner. She's very thorough and never makes me feel rushed. When she moved her practice from Austin to Kyle, I was fine with driving the extra 20 minutes -- it's worth a little extra drive time to see a doctor I really trust.

I made an appointment with this provider based on a recommendation from a colleague for skin rejuvenation. I just completed my first visit and the staff and physician did not disappoint. I was greeted upon entrance and the staff punctual, knowledgeable and friendly (often get 2 but don't usually don't get all 3 things)!

Dr Chanda-Kim was thorough and explained everything clearly and answered all my questions. I am happy to have found this clinic for my skin care needs. Highly recommended!

Dr Chanda-Kim is great.....the only issue I have had is it is extremely difficult to get into see her even as an existing patient. Her nurse has told me to go to the ER but I hate to do that if I just need antibiotics or something like that. I would think existing patients could get squeezed in or even see another dr in that practice if they need to.

In fairness to Dr Chanda-Kim she bought the practice during my treatment for the staph infection. It was the doctor who previously owned the practice that I interacted with early in the infection. The office staff was transferred with the practice. My complaint is not with either doctor. It’s with the office staff who didn’t know which patient is MDVIP & didn’t know the benefits that the patient is paying for. The survey was hard to answer as Dr Chanda-Kim was not involved. My interaction with her has been totally positive & helpful.
