My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

Through my affiliation with MDVIP, I am very happy to offer you a unique experience in medical care. Over the last 8 years, I have felt that the current practice of medicine involves diagnosis and treatment with medication. These medical therapies, albeit needed, in general only improve some laboratory numbers, but seldom reverse the disease and almost never cure the problem. I often say, “Our practice of medicine has been reactive instead of proactive”. As a consequence, we have an epidemic of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, arthritis and cognitive decline with diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and others. Given this information, I decided to look into other ways of how to make a difference in my patients’ lives.

I decided to train as a wellness practitioner and became certified by the national wellness institute. Then I went ahead and officially trained as an obesity medicine doctor. I felt those new pathways opened a new way to help my patients. I furthered my training by doing a fellowship in metabolic medicine and nutrition, as well as in hormone replacement therapy. These last 2 detailed trainings made me realize the importance of nutrition as the center of health and disease, the importance of insulin resistance and the fact that, prior to the actual diagnosis of diabetes, a patient usually can spend multiple years to decades being called “prediabetic”.

My goal, as your MDVIP-affiliated primary care physician, is to provide you with optimal guidance, tools and tender care to proactively allow you to live your healthiest life possible while preventing diseases; focusing on the preventable diseases that are the most common causes of death in the world.
