My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

The reason I became a physician was to provide more personalized and thorough medical care. Growing up in a small town where my father was the only physician, I saw the depth of care and the relationships fostered as he provided for the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of his patients. Over the last 25 years, I have tried to emulate this type of individualized care for my patients.

In today’s healthcare environment, the partnership between the doctor and the patient has become increasingly limited. Fortunately, I have found a better way to practice medicine - a way that gives the physician the time and resources to provide the type of care patients deserve.

As an MDVIP-affiliated family physician, I have more time to develop and nurture close doctor-patient relationships, carefully review records and perform comprehensive exams. Being your personal physician and health coach, we can work as a team to formulate a wellness plan that can help you achieve your physical, mental and spiritual goals.

Specializing in family medicine and the ongoing education that is mandatory to maintain board certification, allows me to provide advanced, evidence-based care for the whole family. This also includes treatment for acute injuries, skin procedures, as well as for chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity and thyroid concerns. In addition, through my affiliation with MDVIP, I also offer comprehensive, advanced health screening and diagnostic tests that go far beyond those found in regular medical practices.

A master’s degree in counseling and fellowship in primary care psychiatry allows me to better address the growing needs in mental health care.

There are no shortcuts to being healthy and whole. It is never too early or too late to begin making improvements that will help preserve, protect and promote your overall health now and for the future.
