My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

Growing up in a small Pennsylvania town, I was influenced by the doctors who were completely dedicated to their patients constantly working in their best interest. And now that I have been practicing for 30 years, I have found that to be a compelling model for clinical practice. I believe this is a profession, not a trade, and I always work in my patient's best interest.
It is a privilege for me to function in a capacity where I can potentially help avoid medical problems or treat problems as they arise. My philosophy is to do my job, both technically and emotionally to the best of my ability and in the interests of my patients. My guiding principles are simple - tell the truth and don't be arrogant.
I believe my patients who are part of my MDVIP-affiliated practice value the same goals of health care which I embrace - the values of prevention and wellness and of allowing adequate time to effectively work together to keep them happy and healthy.

Dr. Richard Berg has been my physician for some 28 years. The key to our relationship has been his ability to listen to the patient. He is most accommodating and I believe this is because he "hears" my concerns.

from demetra in MD March 11, 2020 for Richard A. Berg, MD

Dr Berg is always there for us with care , knowledge and support. I was battling a hospital and doctors that took a look at my 93 yr old father and dismissed him and told me to take him home on hospice and let him die. He needed a peg tube to at least get a shot at living and they were refusing to do this for me even though I was POA for my father. It was a very difficult and stressful time… See more
