Meet Robert A. Crowder Jr., MD

Practicing good medicine, I believe, includes a partnership between doctor and patient—a partnership based on mutual trust and respect that is earned, not given. As an MDVIP-affiliated primary care physician, I have more time to develop closer relationships with my patients and perform comprehensive exams. Being your personal doctor, we can work as a team to create a wellness plan tailored to your unique health goals. In my opinion, there are no shortcuts to being healthier and no simple formulas or “one-size-fits-all” approaches when it comes to the well-being of my patients. My primary care practice is focused on you and how we can help you pursue making a happier, healthier future your reality.

As a native of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, I have spent my career dedicated to providing personalized healthcare to my community. I completed my college education, medical school and postgraduate training in Tennessee. I am board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and an active member of the Tennessee Medical Association and the Nashville Academy of Medicine.

With years of experience in internal medicine, I have developed relationships with specialists in the Nashville area who can help provide care for my patients' unique needs, if needed. While I serve as your primary care physician, I also have special interests in cardiovascular health, diabetes, hypertension and preventive medicine. My practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices.

I look forward to partnering with you on your journey as you work toward better health and a longer, more fulfilling life.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
