About Rose A. Payne, MD

My goal is to develop a partnership with my patients and their families to provide personalized healthcare. Having worked as a hospitalist and a primary care physician, as well as having spent several years as a caregiver for a sick family member, I am well aware of the complexity of the medical system and the impact of disease on not only the patients but their families as well. I strive to help my patients manage current medical conditions, prevent new ones and navigate the medical system.

In my MDVIP-affiliated practice, I listen and work with you to meet your healthcare needs. Similar to conveniences often associated with concierge medicine practices, I also offer same- or next-day appointments that start on time. As a female physician practicing in Nashville, Tennessee for over 15 years, I enjoy preventive medicine, women’s health and getting to know you beyond your medical condition.

Not much to say, other than my experience with my PCP, Dr. Payne, and Dr. Thompson before her have been the most attentive, humane, thoughtful, attentive, professional, deliberate, and personal medical care I have experienced. This is the way all medicine should be practiced without exception.

Dr.Payne was my physician even prior to her move to concierge practice. The difference in care from her very large practice of hundreds of patients to a more manageable roster of patients was immediately apparent. Her new office is in a lovely spacious office with multiple patient rooms , staffed by her long term nurses who are familiar to all of her patients , and the welcoming staff…

I was having fainting spells and had gone to a cardiologist, worn a monitor, etc with no obvious heart issues diagnosed. I was driving and stuck in traffic and had another one of my fainting spells. I turned off the road and called my doctor, Rose Payne, on her cell phone and she answered!!! I told her my situation and she said to go to the emergency room immediately. She was my guardian…

Dr. Payne is always working to help me improve my health. If I need a specialist, she works hard to find one she thinks can help me and who takes my health insurance. I have been going to Dr. Payne for years. My grandson who is six loves to go with me to visit. He thinks everyone in her office are friends and loves Dr. Payne as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
