About Ryan L. Allen, DO
One of the most rewarding aspects of practicing family medicine has always been building lasting relationships with my patients and helping them navigate their health throughout every stage of life. Even after more than 25 years in practice, I remain motivated by the opportunity to listen carefully, identify concerns that may otherwise go unnoticed, and help patients better understand their health. I enjoy hiking, cycling, and flying, so I understand how important it is for my patients to maintain their health and independence so they can continue enjoying the activities that matter most to them.
Over time, traditional healthcare has grown increasingly hurried, leaving less time for what matters most: you. Because I believe you deserve a doctor who truly listens, I am excited to offer a better way to care for my patients through my affiliation with MDVIP.
I’m intentionally limiting the size of my practice so I can shift my focus from treating illness to helping prevent and control it. This model allows me to offer you:
• Unhurried same-day or next-day appointments: We will have all the time we need to discuss your health concerns in detail.
• 24/7 direct availability: You will be able to reach me directly on my personal phone for urgent matters, day or night.
• The MDVIP Wellness Program: An annual, comprehensive health assessment that comprises more than 150 screenings and lab tests that go far beyond standard commercial insurance and Medicare, and includes screenings for heart health, diabetes risk, sleep quality, vision, hearing, nutrition, fitness, weight management, bone strength, emotional well-being, and advanced cardiovascular testing from Cleveland HeartLab.
I use the results from these screenings and tests to develop a personalized wellness program for each patient. My goal is to uncover hidden health problems before they become an issue and help you maintain optimal fitness. I believe this model is very valuable and an excellent investment in your health.

Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
