I explained the situation to her. She immediately went to the phone, called the pharmacy, and my prescription will be ready tomorrow! Coincidentally, I had a similar situation months before. I called Dr. Bloomberg's phone at close to 9 pm, waiting until then to see if the pharmacy might come through before closing time. He answered his phone, saying, "What can I do for you, Rhoda?" I told him the situation. He called the pharmacy and my prescription was ready the next morning. My husband has had some serious health problems this past summer, and Dr. Bloomberg has been a most concerned and attentive doctor and friend. We both have been so appreciative of this outstanding relationship with him. We can't bear to think that he will retire one of these years, which he certainly deserves. But we also know that his daughter-in-law, Dr. Zamani, will most capably fill the void in the office, in the same superb manner she is presently doing. Everyone should be so lucky to have doctors like these two. I am one grateful patient!!

When I was discharged from the hospital after heart surgery, I had some post surgical complications that needed attention. Unfortunately, it was Dr. Zamani's day off. I called her office, she called me back and told me to come in. She treated me, spent the time with me, prescribed medication, and I left feeling confident and grateful that I chose to be an MDVIP patient with Dr. Zamani. Meet Sami Zamani, DO

My primary care practice philosophy centers on a strong bond with patients, whom I consider family and friends. Through this relationship, I can better evaluate and provide treatment options. I find that to see the full picture of patients’ health, I need to know them more in depth. Similarly, treatment adherence relies on trust in the physician and the direction that is recommended. I like to take extra time to better educate patients about their illnesses and treatments so they can make the best decision for them. It is the strength of the bond between the patients and their physician that I believe determines the quality of the outcome. I focus considerably on carefully forming and nurturing this bond over time.

While I practice full-spectrum adult primary care, I have a special interest in elder care. This is a fascinating time when patients serve a key role for multiple generations of their family members and require as precise and personal medical care as possible to help maximize quality and function in their lives. Additionally, I am very interested in the knowledge of the world and life experience that patients bring.

My family’s clinic has been serving Tempe, Arizona, and the East Valley for more than 43 years. We know how to deliver personal, responsive and well-coordinated care. I am honored to continue running our clinic for another generation. I'm really quite healthy and rarely need more than my annual visit. Had a cough this year that I needed an appt. for and got it with another physician because mine was out that week. She's always responsive to my questions and returns calls promptly. I trust her diagnostic skills but am a bit disappointed that when I need a referral to another physician for a specialized condition, I usually don't get a specific name but rather a group practice that has many physicians. The main reason I stayed with her is that I've been with the practice for years and didn't want to change. I dislike having to participate in a concierge practice in order to get this level of care but glad I have the resources to do so. It's unfortunate that it's not available to everyone.

She literally killed my mother by not weighing her and paying attention to her weight loss and malnutrition at her first post-surgery visit. Even though we asked about malnutrition over and over again during in-home rehab and we asked for a nurse to visit and she refused to authorize it.

We switched to her husband for one month post/op check up (why did Zamani even wait that long to schedule follow up?). He just told us to put my very physically able and cognitively alert mother into hospice and just accept that she was going to die.

I don’t think Dr. Zamani was competent and overlooking weighing my mom at her initial post-op visit and noticing she had dropped from pre/surgery 80 to post surgery 68 lbs, and not following up as she dropped to 66, 64, 62 was negligence.

I wouldn’t go near this doctor and I regret I made the mistake of choosing Dr. Zamani instead of one of the other Bloombergs to see her immediately after her surgery.

My mother died on April 15 due to malnutrition.
