About C. Shane Hall, MD

What I enjoy most about family medicine is the opportunity to care for patients through every stage of life and build relationships that last for decades. Since beginning my practice in the North Dallas, TX, area in 2009, I have had the privilege of doing exactly that. I believe the foundation of personalized medical care is a stronger relationship between physician and patient. I find that patients and physicians can work together toward healthier outcomes when there is more time to listen, discuss, understand and educate. We can develop a plan tailored to each individual—not just address a problem that brought someone through the door that day.

Over the years, I have developed a special interest in the science surrounding preventing heart attacks and strokes. My goal isn't simply to help you live longer—it's to support you as you pursue staying healthier, more active and independent for as many years as possible. I am certified in the BaleDoneen Method®, an evidence-based approach that helps optimize arterial wellness and avoid cardiovascular, diabetic and other chronic conditions. This training, along with the advanced screenings and tests available in the annual MDVIP Wellness Program that I offer, can help support identifying risks before a heart attack or stroke might occur. This focus on prevention allows us to develop a personalized plan that can support your efforts toward reducing risk and protecting your long-term health.

I also have a strong interest in diabetes care, helping patients not only as they work to manage the disease but, whenever possible, aim to prevent complications. I can support patients through individualized care, lifestyle changes and evidence-based approaches.

Throughout my career, I have intentionally built my practice around spending meaningful time with my patients, despite a healthcare system that increasingly rewards volume over relationships. I believe every patient in my practice deserves more time with their doctor to ask questions, discuss their health and feel confident in the decisions we make together.

Affiliating with MDVIP allows me to practice medicine the way I have always envisioned. It gives me the opportunity to offer same-day or next-day appointments, unhurried visits, prompt communication and greater availability when you need me.

One of the greatest joys of practicing family medicine has been developing lasting relationships with my patients and caring for multiple generations of the same family. It is a privilege to be trusted with your healthcare, and I look forward to partnering with you to help you in your efforts to enjoy a healthier life for many years to come.

When I'm not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife and family, traveling and cheering on local sports. I feel incredibly fortunate to have cared for patients in the North Dallas community for more than 15 years.

I have been seeing Dr. Hall for primary care since I arrived in McKinney about 9 years ago. His knowledge is impressive but most of all he listens to my health concerns and does not quickly jump to a conclusion. He orders tests only when truly needed. I appreciate he does not rush me during my visits. He is sincere and genuine in his remarks and I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking a primary care physician.

Dr. Hall is a good doctor, however, I’m going to find a new PCP. I called on July 6 to make an appointment due to a serious problem with my stomach and the guy I talked to said I can’t get in until August. I told him I could be dead by then, to which he replied “Yes you can”. What good is a doctor that you can’t get in to see? None!

My family goes to doctor Hall and we have never had a bad experience with him or his staff in the last 2 years. Everyone is nice and seems to be engaged. Dr Hall communicates over his Healow app with small questions which I think is great. This has saved me a trip several times. I would certainly recommend this practice.

Dr. Hall was GREAT. No words against him. His staff on the other hand really needs to learn to get their s*** together. Too many "missed" appointments that you want me to pay for because you didn't do your legwork? You blacklisted me because I went off on them for not doing their jobs. Now I am out at least another 2 months for surgery because no one turned in the right paperwork. New practice, more pain. Thanks for nothing, accept Dr. Hall. He is very professional. The staff, well.....

Frequently Asked Questions

Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
