About Sonita Singh, MD, MPH
My MDVIP-affiliated primary care practice focuses on adult medicine, geriatric care and women’s health. As a board-certified family practice physician, my goal is to help patients as they work to maintain their health and vitality through the many stages of life, incorporating personalized care by listening to your concerns and working with you toward your health goals.
I integrate evidence-based medicine, and being in the MDVIP model gives me the tools to better help you manage your chronic conditions.
Being a Washington, D.C.-based physician for 15 years, I have built a referral network and have more time to speak with specialists on your behalf.
I have a special interest in preventive medicine, especially how I believe a well-balanced diet can augment other aspects of a healthier lifestyle to help patients work to prevent or possibly reverse chronic diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer and dementia, among others. I have special training in nutrition, and I enjoy working closely with those who are interested in making more positive diet and lifestyle changes to help them pursue optimizing their health. I look forward to working with my patients as they pursue their nutrition goals, and I am knowledgeable about how to help them work toward their objectives. I am proud that our practice that has a registered dietician on site to help support these goals.
As a former Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco, and as a physician with experience working with international travelers, including Peace Corps volunteers and diplomats as patients, I have interest and experience in travel medicine. I look forward to helping you prepare for any upcoming international excursions.
In my spare time, you will find me in my community garden plot, painting in my art studio or photographing the exquisite gardens around Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia (the DMV).

Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
