About Spencer Phillips, MD, FAAFP
As a board certified family physician, I chose medicine because I believe more personalized healthcare begins with a trusted relationship. In today’s healthcare environment, I find many patients feel rushed, unheard and frustrated by long waits and limited time with their physician. Personalized medicine allows me to practice medicine the way it was meant to be practiced – with more time, attention and dedication to each patient’s well-being.
My approach is simple: I have more time to listen and talk, focus on the whole person and support my patients as they pursue their health and wellness goals. Whether you are addressing a chronic medical condition, seeking preventive care, addressing a new health issue, or simply striving to maintain good health, I provide personalized care tailored to your individual needs.
As a family physician, I am trained to care for patients across all stages of life and to understand how different aspects of health are connected. I believe that individualized medical care extends beyond just helping patients address symptoms: It involves deeper discussions about your medical history, your lifestyle, your concerns, and what matters most to you and your family.
A cornerstone of my practice is the annual MDVIP Wellness Program, which includes advanced screenings and tests focused on key areas of health to help identify risk factors and issues that could be treated earlier, prevented or even reversed. Using the results of these screenings, we can work together to build a wellness plan to support you in your efforts to optimize your health. My goal is to support a focus on prevention and to serve as your guide as you work toward avoiding problems before they become more serious.
Patients who choose my practice can expect longer appointments, timely communication and a physician who knows them personally. As an MDVIPaffiliated physician, I can be available during and after hours to help my patients when they need me, especially for more urgent concerns. My goal is to help patients make informed decisions and to serve as a trusted advocate for their health.
I believe that prevention is one of the most important priorities in medicine. Through the comprehensive Wellness Program, individualized wellness planning
and ongoing monitoring, we can work together as you pursue improving or maintaining your health before concerns might affect your quality of life. When illness does occur, I am committed to providing attention and evidence-based care. I also have more time to speak with specialists and advocate for my patients as a means to support them in their efforts to work toward the best possible outcomes.
Choosing a physician is an important decision. Patients who come to my practice are seeking more than a medical provider – they are seeking a partner in their healthcare journey. My commitment is to provide compassionate and comprehensive care while building relationships based on trust, respect and open communication.
I would be honored to serve you as your physician and support, guide and educate you as you pursue your healthiest, most active and most fulfilling life.

Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
