About Stacy L. Edwards, DO, FACOI
Since the time I entered grade school, my mind and heart were set on becoming a doctor. I believe the relationships I have built with patients and their loved ones and my own experiences in healthcare delivery have prepared me to be your partner in health. My MDVIP-affiliated practice focuses on promoting health and helping patients as they work to prevent disease. My goal is to provide personalized care that is as individualized and unique as you. I would be honored by the opportunity to serve as your personal primary care doctor. I can help you pursue wellness by spending more time getting to know your story, learning your needs and building a personal relationship based on trust and respect.
I chose to become a DO because of the principles embodied by the practice of osteopathic medicine. I pursued general internal medicine because I understood the expansive focus on subspecialty training in areas like cardiology, pulmonology, nephrology, endocrinology, gastroenterology and rheumatology could make me a better diagnostician. I have been practicing as a board certified internist in the Dunedin/Clearwater, Fla., community for the past 25 years. I have been privileged to serve clients from Tampa, Trinity, St. Petersburg and Orlando. As a female internist, I hold special interests in women's health and behavioral health. I have experience helping to assess risk for cardiovascular diseases, sleep disorders, menopause and arthritic conditions and how these conditions can impact health and hinder the pursuit of wellness.
DOs believe there is more to good health that the absence of pain or disease. They believe in treating the whole patient – body, mind and spirit. My training emphasized the important skills of listening, paying attention to patient goals, delivering compassionate care and partnering with patients to help them pursue health and well-being. I believe the focus on health extends beyond symptoms to include considering how lifestyle and environmental factors can impact well-being. I believe these foundations align perfectly with the MDVIP philosophy and model of care. I am proud to be an affiliated physician.
My practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medical practices. The results from the annual MDVIP Wellness Program allow us to create a personalized care plan. I offer same- or next-day appointments along with unhurried appointments that allow us more time to discuss your concerns and questions. We can gain insights about your diagnoses and how you want to pursue more optimal health. MDVIP resources include connecting me to some of the country's leading medical institutions through its Medical Centers of Excellence program, if needed. I believe my being reachable 24/7 for more urgent concerns can bring you peace of mind. I aim for my practice to be a place where you feel you belong and that I can deliver healthcare the way I believe it should be.

I miss her

Hands down ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
She’s so personable, caring and knowledgeable!!!! What more could you ask for???

Dr. Edwards was my wife's PCP for nearly 20 years, but closed her own practice and joined Diagnostic Clinic Medical Group a while back. That's when my wife started encountering a range of issues that included difficulty getting pre-authorizations sent by Dr. Edwards to the insurance provider, appointment scheduling issues, call-backs on issues where Dr. Edwards (or her staff) were supposed to follow up with essential treatment information, assistance with specialist referrals, and a host of other issues. Dr. Edwards is actually a good doctor, but the medical staff that works with her are stunningly terrible. They are rude, hateful, uncaring, belittling, and highly inflexible. My wife finally had enough and walked out of their office before even seeing Dr. Edwards for her latest annual checkup due to how poorly she was treated when asking some questions about the need for a referral and a couple of other matters.

Frequently Asked Questions
Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
