Meet Stephanie J. Shell, DO

I am passionate about helping my patients improve the quality of their lives by providing the preventive healthcare. In my MDVIP-affiliated family medicine practice, you will receive personalized care, including a comprehensive wellness program and action plan, as well as access to online tools and resources on your personal health website. I will be your coach and partner, as well as your primary care physician, as you navigate your course to achieving a healthier, happier life. 

I am one of the few female physicians practicing in this style of practice in Charlotte County, Florida and proud to be board certified by the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. As a private doctor, I care for a limited number of patients – just a few hundred instead of the thousands that are typically a part of most primary care practices today. My smaller practice gives me extra time to work very closely with my patients to help them achieve better health. Similar to conveniences often associated with concierge medicine practices, I also offer same- or next-day appointments that start on time. 

I am an attending physician at Fawcett Memorial Hospital and Bayfront Medical Center. This means that when you are hospitalized, I will follow you throughout your stay, as I believe you should be cared for by the physician who knows you best – me. 

My practice serves all of Charlotte County, including Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Arcadia, Boca Grande and Rotonda West.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

Have been with Dr. Shell since 2003. Dr. Shell has been our family Doctor.. care of my father, my sister, me and my wife Office visits are very thorough allowing many questions. On two occasions I needed assistance while out of state and she responded and did follow up. At times there is a delay in getting a referral or office visit...but usual office busy.

I have been seeing Dr Stephanie Shell for a few years. I came from a general family Dr. who saw me 10 - 15 minutes and only for the issue that bothered me the most. And is was usually the practitioner. When I see Dr Shell it is always Dr. Shell. She treats the whole body and gives me as much as is time needed. She explains why the problem happened, what options are available and how to cope. When faced with a very serious injury Dr. Shell will follow up personally. After several weeks of a swollen knee, I made an appointment with my concierge doctor, Dr Stephanie Shell. After seeing my knee, she ordered an x-ray immediately which I had the next day.
