About Stephen Thomas, MD, MBA

As a family medicine physician, my philosophy centers around treating the whole person, not just their symptoms. I believe that each patient is unique and requires a personalized approach to their healthcare needs. I prioritize building strong relationships with my patients based on trust, empathy and open communication. By understanding their individual lifestyle, medical history and goals, I am able to provide more comprehensive and individualized care. This approach enables me to better treat not only the physical symptoms, but also the underlying causes, and to focus on preventive measures that promote long-term health.
 
I also believe in the importance of collaboration with my patients, encouraging them to take an active role in their healthcare. This involves empowering them with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed decisions, as well as providing ongoing support and guidance as needed. By working together as a team, we can develop a personalized treatment plan that is tailored to their unique needs, values and goals. This approach can lead to better health outcomes and an improved quality of life for my patients. I believe it is what sets personalized family medicine apart from other healthcare models.
 
My primary care practice is in Lawrenceville, Georgia, and currently serves Gwinnet County, Hall County, Barrow County, Walton County, Dekalb County, including the towns of Buford, Gainesville, Suwanee, Lilburn, Loganville, Dacula, Snellville and Stone Mountain. Similar to concierge medicine practices, I also offer conveniences like same- or next-day appointments.
 
I am a native Georgian, dad of three children and husband of 20 years. As a family, we enjoy traveling, cooking and playing sports.

I am extremely happy with MDVIP, Dr. Thomas and his staff. He gives me all the time I need and offers quality suggestions on how I can maintain my health. His staff is excellent! I recommend MDVIP to many people. As we get older "health care" quite often comes up in conversation. I tell people, "if I had a "regular" Doctor and to have an appointment would be two or three weeks. I would either be better or dead" With MDVIP I get an appointment the same or next day.

I am a physician with primary care experience. I have been consistently impressed with the care I have received from Dr. Stephen Thomas and Dr. Raymond Stovall before him in the MDVIP program. The office staff is experienced, pleasant to deal with and responsive. The expense seems high, but I am aging and it is unlikely that I will look for a non-concierge provider.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
