About Sunny Sharma, MD, DipABLM

I believe that the key to treating disease is to help patients work toward preventing it in the first place. My passion for primary care comes from building bonds with my patients, as I hope they will look at me as an extension of their family. In today’s overwhelmed healthcare system, patients may experience a one-size-fits-all approach and feel there is little time to build connection with their physicians. 

MDVIP enables me to practice medicine with the approach I believe patients deserve. I  have more time in my MDVIP-affiliated practice, which helps me to form closer relationships with my patients and help facilitate a level of trust and comfort that I think is difficult to find in a traditional practice. As a board-certified lifestyle medicine physician, I take a personalized, preventive approach, which I believe may benefit patients not only in the short term but also decades down the line. 

My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices. I enjoy customizing nutrition plans, detailing exercise regimens and helping tailor action plans to each individual patient to support their unique needs and goals. 

In addition to preventive measures, I also offer conveniences, such as same or next-day appointments with minimal waiting. My patients enjoy the convenience of being able to contact me directly during and after hours for more urgent needs. I work with and can refer you to trusted Ascension Medical Group specialists and sites of care.

MDVIP-affiliated physicians use the Wellness Program Plus to help prevent little things from becoming big things – working to help patients enjoy life and be healthier. Those who value their health will appreciate having a closer doctor-patient relationship. Because MDVIP-affiliated physicians have smaller practices, they have more time for you, so you can receive the individualized care and service you deserve. Physicians offering the Plus program have a different set of testing to choose from than physicians in the traditional program; this testing looks at additional health risks. Plus doctors also use an advanced cognitive testing system to evaluate brain health and offer a medication review program.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
